899 is UK's biggest selling bike

  1. It's true! This from Telegraph website....
The £12,500 Ducati 899 Panigale is December's biggest seller, beating motorcycles costing a fifth of that in the sales chart

In an upset equivalent to the Ferrari California outselling the Ford Focus, the Ducati 899 Panigale superbike topped the UK registrations list in December to beat bikes and scooters costing a fifth of that.

A total of 128 Ducati 899 Panigales were registered in December, a traditionally quiet month in the bike trade. That was compared with 114 for the Honda CBF 125 and 89 for the third-placed Honda PCX 125 scooter, according to figures from the Motor Cycle Industry Association.

  3. so everyone with a 899 just took a massive hit

  4. and an extra 128 848's on the market.

  5. Who says sales promotions don't work?

  6. How is that?
    Free Termi's saved buyers £1200+.
Im guessing most would fit an exhaust anyway.

  8. well ceric that's the story with 1199 because of good sales , my 2013 S model 1500miles as new realistically was getting 12/13k part ex and told off the dealers theres to many around to keep prices up, as for termis I wouldn't fit them don't seem to make any difference power or noise wise, was gonna p/x mine for a bayliss but thought hard and im not giving mine away for 12.5k and put 5k cash in the deal so decided to keep mine and getting a 848 streetfighter as well in march ,

  9. i wonder how many of the cb125s or pcx scooters were registered by the manufacturer or as demos

  10. They must all be tucked up under covers plugged into an optimate, I haven't seen one on the road yet, this time of year all I seem to see is old scruffy '90's sportsbikes and BMW GS's slogging away on the daily commute

  18. I'm one of the many buyers then... I've had it a month and only once have I rode it in dry daylight, otherwise 20 odd days of commuting in heavy rain, heavier traffic, and the dark. I chopped in a Daytona 675 and a Yamaha XT660X.

  19. Surprised it not a pile of rust by now
