The Biker "Nod"

When you get the stern look after the nod give them an over the top camp cheery wave, they love that!

 

Me too - anything with two wheels with an engine. Over the years I've found that if any rider doesn't return a "nod" they are invariably astride a cruiser - usually one of those Hardly Dangerous things. I reckon they are always on their way to a ploughing competition, where they will be at home with all of the other agricultural machinery!
Do folks give a nod to police motorcyclists? I have, and sometimes it gets returned!

 

I noticed "sur le continent" that riders acknowledge other riders with a straightened leg off the foot peg. I saw it too many times for it to be stretching out an ache in every case. Handy in the UK because you don't need to take your hand off the throttle to wave if you've got the obligatory 916/748/99* stiff neck :biggrin:. Andy

 

I looked up a similar thread on a US forum, and they're something special. They differentiate not just between brands of motorcycle, but models of bike and even derivations of models. One guy refused to nod to Triumph 955 owners cos he had a 1050 and was therefore above them!

I'd hate to think us brits would stoop to such depths, but I fear it's already starting.

this is a funny thread. i won't nod at scooters, trikes or learners some spotty teenager isn't going to respond. i only nod at proper bikers.

i would nod back to anybody who nodded at me first but kids just aren't going to are they haha
if i was cycling i would nod to another cyclist but not while i was on my motorbike. its very complicated

I'm willing to bet that the majority of people who pick and choose who they wave to have had their bike license less than ten years...

Well, we`ll all wave when you are on the 1198 and ignore you completely on the 125, because you are obviously a worthy person when riding the former, and a dick`ead on the latter.
