scooter where i live are usely stolen or got a drug dealer or street robber riding it ,,cyclists i hate them ..dont pay road tax and think they own the road and take no notice of the highway code ..and when your bopping along some country lane near boxhill thousands of the this power ranger clad wiggins wannabes are 10 abreast in the bloody way ......wancors rant over
Well for what its worth , i dont do push bikes and dont belive they should be on the same roads as us especially since all our cycling sucess , its just flushed out a load of twats that block the road and pay scant regard to anyone else . Chris Hoy an Wiggo its your fault , ok when on a bike just blow them away but in my usual 24/7 transport a bunch of Herberts . Any way as to all the other 2 wheelers i try to NOD but the peds i find dont get it , but the 125 race rep lads do and i thnk they like being part of the group = bikers , even for a short period before they migrate to CARS . But they may come back as most of us have.
Chase if you think you have a problem with push-bikes, come and live in the acknowledged world center of cycling-the Pyrenees. Nothing like going round a blind bend in the mountains to find a dozen right in front of you riding two abreast.
Hardly Davidson lot seem to be no different here in NI, no response, a bit like their engine....... I would nod for about the first half hour to bigger stuff or in response, but as I have a 916, my arse feels like it is the same height as my head..... this becomes medically impossible for me after that time. I am in the process of building up my neck muscles due to a problem there, and have done 8 private physio sessions recently to help. Another £500 or so of therapy and I will be like a nodding Churchill in a car back window............. not........................
Ian on a zzr - everybody nods to me. Ian on a Chinese 125 - a few nods in my direction, perhaps from people thinking it's bigger than it actually is. Ian on a 1198 - social leper. The only nods in my direction are from other Ducati owners! I'm the same Ian whatever I'm on...
Ian you are correct, bikers around the midlands seem to think all Ducati riders are pricks, dont nod and dont speak when you pull up,went touring in Wales for a few days every time we stopped, always people pop over for a chat!!,i get the feeling Ducati riders are more frowned upon than HD riders
The only time I don't nod is when I am filtering or keeping an eye out as I manoeuvre. Or if I don't see you quick enough. Don't expect a nod if I am at 2mph filtering please. Sometimes our concentration is elsewhere. I think we all understand that. I nod to everyone. Ducks usually get the thumbs though.
I find that the people who moan about others not nodding at them are the elitists after all. Just saying.
Yesterday I got a return nod from a chap riding a Harley!! - he was wearing a full face helmet and textile hi-viz kit though, not the usual denim, leather tassels and piss-pot helmet so beloved by the "Satan's Solicitor's MC Club" fraternity. No return nod from numerous scooter riders though - I always try!
I find i try to nod if i have had a ride out on my bike or used it for a day or two to commute even when back in the 4 wheel box .Strange .
