I was just thinking the other day, what happened to Sean Emmett. I used to LOVE Fast Bikes in his days!!! Being on the other side of the world we dont know, see or hear what you guys probably hear... I would think many, many people would read the article based on the OP's premise.....Ducati may not be keen to have the Desmo compared but you never know....
His wife died on honeymoon, he got arrested, then his passport taken away, and the second he got back to britain the cops arrested him. I think that about brings it up to date.
Ah, Fast bikes back when it was fast bikes and not the rubbish it is now. The only credible bike magazine around.
This sounds much better, an article to point out you don't have to buy another bike just upgrade the one you have. TBH why wait for a magazine do we not have anyone here who can write and take a few photos, can't be hard to match the magazines standards
Couple of ideas: Ducati UK normally run a Ducati Trackday - hold the Track part of the Shoot Out on the day of the DUK Trackday. It could be arranged along the lines of WSB Superpole to add a bit of fisson to the event. The other idea is a bit more contentious: if you are thinking of getting ex/current racers involved....Foggy? R
It doesn't matter overly much who is involved, just so long as their competency on track is not in doubt. Ex racers fit the bill, so you can have any of them really, or even current racers. Good thing about some ex-racers is that they might already have experience of/a link to the older models.
One of the Aussie dirt bike mags review bikes with a pro, a vet and a b/c/club level rider...each pespective is often really different and I find appeals to a huge range of readers.... Be nice to have that sort of feedback....maybe the bike owner could qualify as one of the set...if you chose an owner of each bike that could fit each category and thier view is published as part of the article they might be more keen to let their bike be involved...
How about a truth Dyno day…………..wouldnt cost much to assemble several different ducats of all types and put them on the dyno one after the other just for a power run see where the numbers really are at……….we could see if Ian Rhodes at Rhodes and track would be up for it i know they have just had a brand new dyno fitted……they are central, Northampton be a good chance for a meet and a talk bollocks day…..once the dyno drops the bullshit stops….
Didn't mcn run a test/ review of all the Ducati models and their evolution a year or so ago? With Neil hodgeson offering his expert option on each and their differing characteristics on track? Pretty sure they were all full fat R' models too?
I'd like to see those of you who've spent tens of thousands of pounds/euros/shekels, give your bike to a pro rider and see how it compares to the donor. See if it does go significantly quicker or corners with more aplomb. See if you can improve on the manufacturer's base, and how much it cost you to get there.
