We wanted something half decent for the Kitchen as well so went to the A/V shop with a view to buy the Bose Wave. It's good, but as others have said there are better similar products on the market - after a side by side comparison I went for the Vita Audio Vita Audio R4 Review | Hi-fis | CNET UK
At £457 second hand, I'll probably give this one a miss Excellent Ruark Vita Audio R4i Shelf System DAB FM CD USB iPod iPhone 0090658101532 | eBay
Like I said previously, I have the Bose Wave and it's a good piece of kit. I also have a Vita audio R1 that I use as my clock radio. It can't compare with the Bose Wave for sound, but for it's size it's probably even more impressive and very well put together. I can imaging the larger Vita units sounding quite nice.
Decision made - just been to collect a second hand Bose Wave locally for £185. Trying it out now with the Housemartin's - "Now that's what I call quite good"
