  5. Hope you end up with a better leg than my arm AndyW. As soon as I could wipe my arse and wash myself I was re!eased from support.

I lost 50% rotation and 40% extension. Then I was told to change jobs as 7kg was my maximum lift weight, well I can do 70kg on each arm albeit my bad one gets tired first.

Good luck Andy; Five years! I thought it was bad with just two.

  6. There were times when I had to put a little pressure on shall we say to get to the next stage of 'repair' sooner rather than later! Sounds like your own determination got you there in the end Paul.....and if not perfect....we can adapt :D

Not exactly Den, very long story but all in all I consider things pretty good.......I can get around ok and I can ride of course, various limitations not least of which pain (my foot gives me a lot of grief....crushed in the crash) but in comparison to where I've been all is very good :D (edit: actually very very good when I see what some people are living with day to day!)
'Signed off' last June after last surgery just before Xmas 2012....just had the first 12 months free of surgery, the first in nearly 8 years (crash June 2006).
Knee replacement some time in a few years.

John.....one to many bangs to the head! lol

  7. LOL it's like a hospital ward in here.
I smashed my knee between some Armco and my R1 they were going to amputate my leg just below the knee but luckily there was enough bone dust to mix with some artificial bone to try and rebuild my knee, 4 years of various knee braces and a few operations later and I can walk with a slight limp but cant kneel, and extending my leg whilst laying down is quite painful. I was chucked out of hospital 8 days after my accident 4 days after my first opp. but couldn't use crutches or a wheel chair because my wrist and elbows were damaged.

I took some photos at the seen showing how the Armco posts had removed one of my quad muscles

  8. Whilst I wish you well and sympathize with you. I personally don't think the photos are appropriate for this forum.

  9. ".....LOL it's like a hospital ward in here." indeed! lol.................Psy, you're right, I'll start a new thread and move the 'crash' posts over.

  10. Thanks Andy. No issue with people wanting to post pictures. Just would like the choice of viewing blunt trauma injuries :)

  11. no bmw on the front page?.

  12. I've added a warning at the head of the first post - thanks for saying, a good point and I doubt your alone in that. :D

  13. Just altered the title every so slightly

  14. Does this apply to pictures of badly applied make up? Some I've seen make me throw up.
Was in hospital 2 weeks ago for a very minor op on hand. Surgeon saw I wasn't enjoying myself looking at the ceiling so got a theater nurse over to distract me with chat etc. She asked when original injury occurred. I said 1992; her reply, 'I wasn't even born then'. Conversation stopped dead.

  15. In my view, this attempt to censor other peoples' posts and photos is not appropriate for this forum. What is your problem? Are you really admitting to being unable to cope with seeing photos of somebody's injured leg, FFS?

  16. Denh - ducati and a peregrine - now that's a coincidence.

  17. Pete1950- perhaps you missed his post 11? i think he merely wanted some degree of 'alerts' earlier in the post/title.

he also expresses a personal opinion( and articulates it as such) - thats hardly an attempt to 'censor'.

Bit overbearing, presumably only the mods/owners can 'censor ' the forum - anyway, i thought we liked opinions here……….?

  18. I thought it might be a hybrid, looks quite pale, or its maybe a Peale's???

  19. oops sorry guys I didn't want to upset any one, to me it's just a picture now I guess. I knew it was a bit off topic but us salty dogs like to compare our misfortune, and lets not for get Chick dig scars.

    sorry
