Despite going the last few years, i'm sitting this one out. Will be interested to see if the show is any good
I may go. Will have a think about it... I've been a bit unimpressed with last years bike shows though...
I thought the new layout last year with the arena in centre of the show was a bad move. Its same this year.
I went last year, but it was utter rubbish. The Birmingham NEC show was far better. So I won't bother with the London one this year, even though it's nearby.
I went last year and wasn't there at all long, ok if you want a r/c helicopter, or a set of drill bits that could allegedly drill through kryptonite, or a set of out of date James Toseland Leathers, but thought it was down on year before when the stunt show was in the next arena. I might go on the Sunday, but only as my mate fancies a day out an a few beers, hope Ally Pally will be on this year
It's too bloody quiet at these shows, it just feels like walking round the shops, 'cept you have to pay to get in. It needs to be more of an event, which to me means loud music and scantily clad dorises. And they've got to make the shows more attractive to manufacturers - that's the whole point of going, to see all the bikes in one place.
I'm going on the Sunday. I'm driving up because I've got a shopping list of things I want to get - new lid, middle layer, possibly a new set of leathers (mine have been shrinking the past year or so, not sure why...). Not been before, I like the Bike Show in Birmingham, so despite you buggers slagging off the London show, I'll keep an open mind until I've experienced it....
Good for you, hope you enjoy it. Don't believe us if you don't want to, but at least allow us the benefit of experience, seeing as you've not even been yet...
mmmmm - well, what can I say?! I have to agree with you Figaro - the show was crap, in the general scheme of things! :frown: The Ducati stand was OK (I can feel myself making room in the garage for a new Testastretta 11 degree Monster 1200S in the not-too-far-distant future....if I can justify the obscene price...) and so was the custom bike area but as for the rest? not worth the ticket fee and the bloody car parking fee which doubled the whole price of the experience! I got there for the 09:00hrs opening and by 11:30hrs I was looking for things to do to fill the day! hahahaha! I think in future I shall stick to the Bike show at the NEC (or whatever it's bloody well called these days) and the occasional classic show....
I went to the bikeshed.cc Event last summer in Shoreditch, just a few dozen modified bikes, and a bit of care and love invested in the displaying of them. For me that was far far better than the London bike show.
Went yesterday and to be honest had a good time, I was disappointed by the lack of accessories on the Ducati stamd they were no way as good as the Kawasaki stand, made a few purchases, but not from those robbing barstewards Touratech.... Something that was £51 with 10% discount "show special" was £44.99 at the adventure bike shop opposite maybe people that accesorise their BMW s are used to being ripped off
