Improvements

  1. Just bought a 2010 Multistrada ST, it has a full system aftermarket exhaust system fitted and a small screen. Was wondering what everyones thoughts were on what is best to buy or to fit to the bike to make it that bit better. Scottoilers, bar ends, crash bars etc. Your thoughts please.

  2. Ohlins Mechatronic SCU-easily the best bang for the buck I've found so far.

  3. You will need to speak to me in english lol, what does that do ?

  4. Full tune from Chris at CJS...this will make you smile from ear to ear, the best 425 ducati dollars you'll ever spend.

  5. do a search on here for best mods or improvements.
There have been a number of posts along these lines.

It depends what sort of riding you do, and when.

    For me:
Lights on loom (keeps dip on with main, essential if it doesn't already have it and you ride at night or in country lanes)
cut down centre stand leg to clear left foot
    rad guard
    fender extender
    monobloc front calipers
bleed nipple in abs unit for rear brake
buy a chain adjustment tool from AndyW

That should get you started :upyeah:

  6. Agree with everything said above, and would add a pair or barkbusters and possibly some R&G bungs.
Having had my bike knocked over I know the levers and the handguards are pretty fragile and expensive.
Barkbusters will avoid a big bill and ruined ride-out (or if you're like me, guarantee the bike never topples over again)

BTW - Ohlins SCU is a retro fit suspension controller that gives you semi-active suspension on pre-skyhook ESA bikes.
Absolutely brilliant and arguably the best mod you can make in terms of bang per buck.

  7. Re radiator guard. Mine got a stone through it last year and the final bill was just short of £900. Best 50 quid you will ever spend!

  8. I kept the expenditure to a minimum so just went for: -

    Rad guard
    Scott Oiler
    Chain Adjuster from AndyW

I found a tune up by CJS well worth the money.

I decided against crash protection as it is expensive, adds weight and is mostly ugly. If the worst should happen I will make an insurance claim; isn't that what its for?

  9. Chain adjuster lads from Andyw ? Is there something special about the chain that I need to have a special adjuster.
I need new bar ends probably cause the previous owner had his own and took them with him and the originals are not a great fit so may do the barkbusters. Defo the radiator guard but for the rest I may just do it bit by bit. I only really wanted to know what everyone else would recommend so thanks lads. Appreciated.

  10. Its a much improved version of whats in the tool kit. if you try to use it you will find it is weak, slips and has to be relocated to turn in the other direction.

AndyW's tool makes adjusting the chain simple and easy. Not sure if he is still supplying them though?

  11. I've been thinking about this one but my fear is that it will be a great mod, right up until the point when the servos on the shock fail and you get caught in a warranty argument between Ohlins and Ducati and left with a hefty bill.

A friend of mine had the rear unit replaced on his 2010 1200S - £££££

  12. If that happens you plug the old ECU in. Simples.

  13. Does it really make that big a difference?

  14. Never thought of that. Isn't it obvious that it's been changed?

  15. No, it's just a plug in ECU.

  16. Late to the party again :D

Sorry all sold ages ago......Iain at Palmer Products now has the design and makes it plus a new 'folding' version for those who prefer something that will stow under the pillion seat.

  17. Very much so.

  18. Thanks guys, much appreciated for the response, will give myself a bit of time to get used to it first before looking at the SCU upgrade.

  19. Thanks for this, helpful for me too as a new owner.
Turns out CJ/Louigi Moto are literally a couple of miles from me at Clutton. Had no idea I had a Ducati specialist so close.
Will be going there when my extended warranty has expired for sure!
