Anyone got any opinions on this Bike? It's up for £16.995 on Autotrader, red with 800 miles on the clock. Ad says if you want a Panigale you will not find one more tricked out that this. It does sound pretty good, but I am sure there are better tricked ones. I have made him an offer and he has accepted it, so I hope it's a good deal. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif.../page/1/postcode/ch52db/radius/1500?logcode=p
I doubt its been raced. Id say all the gear no idea kinda thing. I wouldn't be upset if that was in my garage
By the way we all know your postcode now. 149 miles from **6 5** You may want to repost the link with a different postcode
Thanks for the replies so far. I would have thought that you would not know if most bikes have been tracked. On most you would just have to take the chance and the sellers word. If it has seen some track time then it was in the bikes most comfortable environment. As long as there is no damage which there isn't, then that's all you can go on.
Who's Jimmy? I did look to see if there were any 1199 S models advertised on here first, but there are none. When I posted last week that I wanted to scratch my 1199 itch, I would have thought anyone wanting to sell would have messaged me.
that's me mate and im not selling it now im keeping it you would have got mine for 15k tops when I had me huffy head on last year ,,lol its staying now ,changed tyres had the sprocket /chain done so hope to get out soon, fut 1a ask why carbon mudguard painted red? have a look at sump plug see if its been drilled , etc why has it got gb racing covers on ,most put fancy carbon on ? it may just be a well spent on toy but these are the things I,d be looking at cheers
Good question how do you know if it's a ex race bike? The registration documents will say nothing, drilled sump plug can be repaired, so how do you know? I know a friend bought ex-race bike and thinks he can now sell on a just road bike
your right its a mine field you can only be as carefull as poss, theres nothing wrong with a bike that's been on track anyway, its what there made for , does them good to have a good thrashing now and again,
The change of suspension would worry me, ohlins is more than enough for the average rider, so for it to be upgraded would point to a track rider but the bikes only done 800 miles, of which 600 will be running in miles so if it has been on the track it can't have done much. It seems a good price for the extras if they are the extras you want. I once went to look at a bike and the owner swore it had never been near a track but when I used his downstairs toilet it was like a shrine to his track days, and guess what bike starred in all the photos!?. In all honesty if it was my money I think I would take a chance on this bike as it already comes with lots of goodies that you'd only end up spending money on and it still has plenty of warranty with it
Is it just me or does it look shit having the plate stuffed right under the seat unit and wouldn't it foul the rear wheel when the suspension compresses?
Looked good to me. People change bits for all sorts of reasons. Some to make it better, most to make it look better. I'd be checking the original parts, are they available, any pics etc as I'd be more worried about it being binned and repaired than raced. long as it has manf warranty left who cares?!
Btw anyone who expects me to pay 40p or more a minute to call and ask a few questions about what they are selling will never see the colour of my money
