twats dont smash the window these days they take the friggin side door off. woke up to this after staying in a travelodge in nuneaton, luckily most of my tools were left on site but they still took my jigsaw,it takes years to build up your tool kit so would of been even more pissed off if that had gone
Bad luck. The damage comes to more than the value of stuff taken. Surprised they left the cable. All on top of having the misfortune of staying in a Travelodge too.
If it was pikeys I think the cable would of gone, this was the third time in the space of two weeks that a van the same as mine has had the side door removed, the pub next door has security cameras and my van was pointing directly at them, the police said they will look at them but I'm not holding my breath
That and people invading your space , taking your stuff knowing full well the police will just give you a reference number for the insurance claim
To be fair to the police they have just sent me a pamphlet about being a victim of crime, glad to see they care and they even said that they wil send someone round to the travelodge in the next couple of days to make some enquiries
They do it because there are no consequences to their actions. if they get caught, they get a paltry punishment. Start cutting peoples hands off and they'll think twice (or do it twice and be unable to wipe their arses for the rest of their life)
The plod are too busy trying to fit up Corrie actors and ex-DJ's for being peados to worry about a bit of theft these days... Sad but true...
If this is a common thing then it seems to me that someone has figured out an easy way of getting the side door off rather than having to force locks or break windows. I would be tempted to see about having some extra locks/deadbolts fitted to stop it happening again.
Funny u should say that , I did mention to my firm if we could get extra locks fitted to the van, they said they will look into it. i didn't get the locks but I did get a "no tools left in this vehicle overnight "sticker, wtf like that's going to stop them
No doubt Travelodge have CCTV which as we all know is the cure all.Wait a minute, did they park their vehicle away from the aformentioned cameras and did they also wear hoodies and baseball hats too.Now I wouldn't have thought of that..........But,bad luck,I also would be very pissed over this.
Travel lodge, transit van = Pikey Target it doesn't make it any easier, it used to be safer to take your tools off site, other way round now. Very surprised they didn't have the cable away, may mean their not Pikeys but just common all garden thieves.
Had a 6 week old Tomtom pinched from a locked glove box in a locked car in a secure car park at Hams Hall, where I'd had to hand the keys in. I discovered this before leaving, reported it & told that they would sort it & call me the following day. No call, so I chased it up only to be told that they'd checked the CCTV & as far as they were concerned I'd arrived without sat nav & was trying it on. Got Warwickshire police involved even though it was private land & they were spot on. Ended up with a better sat nav than the one pinched & a very apologetic letter
