hi not long purchased 848 evo course only been out twice saturday first good run, seem to get problem with first gear. jumped out twice and sometimes get problem finding nuetral. just had 12 month service snd told them prob , they say its just because its only done 1000 miles and needs more use. this is model with quick shift. any one had similar probs ?
Never had it jump out of gear but have had trouble finding neautral until I got the dealer to sort it when I had it serviced. So far it's still good
ok will get some more miles on clock and see how it goes stll got 12 months warranty so no worries there cheers.
Firstly I would use the clutch for the first 600miles tbh rather than just the quick shifter, but that's just me. Mine was really notchy when going from 2nd down to 1st for a while, it wouldn't go in always, I have to say though my bike has only done 700 miles and the gearbox is superb now. I would be concerned if it continues to jump out of gears though, especially if it is doing it under load, maybe see how u get on up to the first service.
1st to second is a long throw through the neutral position. I wouldn't use the quick shifter first to second.
+1 .... My 08 popped 1st about three times last season... I've just learnt to be very positive with my foot when changing up, seems to have solved the issue.. Never had the same problem with others in the box so as above I'd say its because it is such a long throw.
When I adjusted my lever on my 1198, i had issues getting 2nd and had occasional misses. Now Ive re-adjusted it thats disappeared. It may be something as simple as the tie rod. Ive also made sure my angles are pretty square between lever, its rose joint, the tie rod, its other rose joint and the wotsit connecting to the gear spline. Now it feels pretty secure.
I've only done 2000 miles on my 848, and still often hit a false neutral... Never had trouble finding it, but sometimes it finds me...
Mines got better with miles...up to 3300 now. I still get the odd one between 5th an 6th though but only if Im not 'positive' shall we say.
