I quite liked the red wheel tape on my old 1098S and on my black 749S I bought white tape to go on it which looked pretty good and broke up the black a bit..... As I have the grey/black/silver 848 Corse with just the red frame was wondering about getting red tape for the wheels on it. Done a photoshop and think I like it. Question is has anyone bought from this guy: Reflective Wheel Rim Stripe Stickers FOR DUCATI Streetfighter Project | eBay Looked at some of his feedback and no one seems to have said the red does not match - which is really the only concern....
There was some rim tap (oo-er!) in the sale section of my local Halfords. I think it was only a couple of quid as the backing card looked like it had been kicked round the shop. I'll pop in there and see if it's still there for you if you want?
I just got red tape for mine slight difference in the colour but it's not noticeable when on the wheels £4
Ta. Have re photohopped using same colour as the frame (just tried a red yesterday) and think it looks quite good.....
I wrestled with this idea back when I collected mine last March. I recall posting a similar question on here last summer and received some pretty damn blunt responses as it happens... I ordered the tape, then decided to forget it. I think the Corse we have is best with the minimum mods to colours. It took me a few months to really come to that conclusion but it seems a very sensitive paint scheme where changing the base colours are concerned. A mate at work said the rule is no more than 3 colours or it'll look messy, and after much thought I think he's spot on. Rim tape isn't another colour though in this case, but it'll either make or break the existing look. I opted for leaving it alone. I might actually have the tape kit in the garage if you want it? Darn just ordered a set! Thanks for the offer though. I think they will look good but can always take them off I guess...
No worries. I'd be really keen to see a pic once fitted to be honest. I don't think they'll look "bad" as such, just that I decided to leave mine off and think it might be better keeping it a simpler colour scheme given it's already got graphics on it. Post some pics when you've got them on.
I quite like rim tape (worth another Ooh -er ) but only on the rear wheel , I seem to be the only bloke I know though that goes down this route.
I'm still not sure whether I like it or not. For such a small change, the bike suddenly looks very different.
