MCE on price comparison websites

  1. On 4 different price comparison websites MCE provide the cheapest quotes by far.

When trying to buy the insurance quoted I was redirected to the MCE website to confirm information. Without changing any or adding any details but simply confirming everything, the price more than doubled.

    Cheeky b******s.

    I hate money-for-nothing insurance companies.

They may have to pay out every now and again but they're still making money hand over fist. They should be limited to a maximum percentage profit per year and forces to reduce premiums if they make more.

  2. apparently its designed that way, to filter out non-ducati owners……. does that include you…?

MCE do not have a good reputation...

  3. Again MCE were by far thr cheapest, and included every extra possible when looking at renewal for multistrada, however after reading endless posts on their poor performance went with bikesure, although they were £20 more than what i paid last year, but £110 less than renewal price.

  4. MCE? Deal with them at your peril. Plenty of tales of woe on here, mine included. Seriously, leave them well alone.

I also went with bikesure and have made it a mission to warn everyone I can not to touch MCE.

  5. indeed, and a cruise around Pistonheads Biker Banter bit, will give more 'balanced' opinions of MCE....

  6. Another anoying thing is that they wont stop ringing you, thank god you can block callers on an iphone !

  7. Oh yes Nick, they constantly ring. I insured elsewhere and they continued to ring me for weeks afterwards.

  8. My Streetfighter insurance is due for renewal in a few weeks. I checked with the meerkats and MCE came out the cheapest by about £20. Then I noticed the excess, £1750 ! the next insurer had an excess of £350. I guess I'll not be using them this year either.

  9. My mate just insured his 749 with MCE even after all I told him. He was drawn in with the "free recovery". I advised him to read the small print.

  10. I did an online quote for my Tricolore... came in at about 7K WTF!! About 30 mins later I get a call from one of their sales guys asking me if I'd like to proceed with the quote, I asked if he'd seen the quote at that point the line went silent for a spell while he composed himself, said he would check and see what they could do... that was that.

Strangely insured it through DI for peanuts in comparison

  11. I think it's only free recovery if your within earshot of your house!
    Or something pretty useless.

  12. You have to be 4 miles away from your house! You have to upgrade if you want cover to start from home.

  13. Read the small print carefully mate. Its basically not worth cock all.

  14. Will never use MCE again,I got scared off by there bad reputation and they were £150 dearer than last year, work that out if you can lol..

  15. Leave them well alone,as though they all have some terrible disease and by handing your wedge over you too will contract this awfull condition.Do not under any circumstances hand your money over to these sheisters.
