  2. Hi m8,
It varies with the environment and air temperature.

Put the DB killers in and I would also pull the clutch in while they do the check too.

    Anth

  3. If you have an iphone or iPod touch you can check the db levels with that before you go too.

  4. iphone pah.................

get the crutch in bit but db killers????

got one of them new fangled ipad3 thingys on way,so when I've managed to turn it on,I will do it with that

    cheers fella:upyeah:

  5. Personally I'd pull my clutch in and not my crutch then put the Baffles in! ;-)

  6. Crutch...........my mistake

    mind wondering

  7. Hi m8,

It's up to you....but it just sounded uncomfortable

    Anth

  8. Much ALSO depends on the state of the wadding in the can...remember that IDEALLY it should be replaced annually if you do a fair mileage.......new wadding will make it loads quieter too, and wont affect the power output, unlike dB killers.......

  9. Pulling your crutch in helps

I'm with you Anth, I pull the clutch in, anything to gag the old girl for a few moments

But to give you an idea, my 1098 with open pipes (70mm race system) termi end cans with no DB killers is usually about 103db.

Also, the db scale means that 'noise' increases exponentially. So in effect 105db is a LOT louder than 103db

  10. Take the DB killers and if it fails put them in

  11. Deffo take your baffles with you.

I only just managed to get on snett after a 2nd sound test after a cool down.

    Test 1 was 108DB :S

  12. Thanks for the tips guys

    mucho help

  13. It would also make a usefull db killer...your crutch that is

  14. That could prove to be a wee bit warm!

  15. If your thinking of doing TD's at Oulton I wouldn't waste your money on termi's. Go for the Akro's as they are quieter IMHO.

I get 103db at Cadwell but about 107db at Oulton and have been above the 102db limit on standard cans.

  16. termis already fitted mate, once I can figure this ghey I pad thingy me bob I'll download an app to measure noise methinks

    Cheers

  17. My 1098 with full 70mm system and the early carbon cans tested at 103-104db but it can vary as others have said

  18. i have a 996 with termis fitted and it clocked 106db at 5000rpm at Oulton Park which incidentally has a 102db limit (or it did for a MSV / Bike Mag Track day anyway)

  19. Good advice and that'll get you through the doors of most UK tracks.
