Didn't someone on here have issues with a cracked fork lower? Then got grief off Ducati? I might have that wrong and I'm too lazy to search from my tablet ;-)

getting a tad confused, are you now saying there is a recall on the ohlins shod bikes? as just checked VOSA and couldn't find anything confused.com
If its a recall it will be on VOSA. If its a rework (not essential and no risk of injury) its not what is the recall for?

Interesting this. I noticed the lower fork legs on my 2012 bike are definitely different to those on my 2010 bike (both Ohlins obviously). Where is the number located on the foot - inside face, bottom edge ? Just so we know where to check :wink: Oh, and thanks for posting
Thanks Piero.....would be good to find out if this is in relation to the cracking issue or something else. Some time after the cracking issue new forks had the torque setting for the axle clamp bolts cast into the leg - 19Nm (Ohlins MTS1200S forks)
I was in the dealers yesterday and it came up as a out standing recall on my bike, I didn't ask about it (other things on my mind) they can do it while fitting my new engine lol
I wonder if that first ID code should read FG8600? This is a Technical Service Bulletin rather than a "Recall" - so no letters going out to owners unless your Dealer takes it upon themselves to do so. Which, I guess, means Ducati believe the issue to be either very unlikely and/or non critical in the case of it occurring. Quote from a technician at Ducati Bellevue USA: "TSB 14-002 involves the right fork leg bottom. identifying marks will have on the inside of the bottom numbers FG860 or FG8601 or FG8602have your dealer inspect for those numbers and run your vin number w/ Ducati only on 2010-2011 MS1200's All vins showing needing these parts will get them if they have matching code numbers listed above.If your vin shows up needing this TSB but the fork leg codes dont match then they will be documented and nothing else is needed. parts come as kit w/ new fork lower leg, dust seal and fork seal and 4 new pinch bolts screws 2 for the new fork leg pinch and 2 for the left fork leg pinch to axle. Good time to get your other fork leg oil changed for a small fee as one fork leg will have new oil" The fork part ID code is located on the inside of the caliper mount and can be seen through the wheel..... ....not my bike ;-)
