Abba stand

  1. Hi all ,ust to let every one know I contacted Abba stands today & the kit for the panni will be on sale in two weeks time .
But not the R model as that is different .

  2. Do you need to cut into the fairing to use the abba stand? It's just I think the mounting holes are obstructed by about a 1 cm.
it would be nice if they have a solution as I don't fancy my skills with a dremmel much!

  3. Hi , no just remove both bottom fairings & then it fits no prob's , so no dremmel is needed. I think I may get one & fit a k teck rear shock.

  4. I'm sending my shock to MCT for a lighter spring and a revalve and oil change. I weigh a gnats over 10 stone so the rear is a bit solid. I could be tempted to trim the side panels. Only need a few millimeters trimming off.

  5. Not each time you want to use the stand though?

  6. Yep that's the only thing , but it takes two mins to whip the bottoms off each time.

  7. Which screws do you need to take off to drop the lowers? Are there some under the belly pan?

  9. Thats the thing thats putting me off, i have the stand and associated fittings for other duc's but they are easy to swap, taking the fairings off each time is not winning me over at the mo.

  10. Im at MCT tomorrow morning with my 899 so he will be able to have a bounce and get an idea. I'm 14 stone and my rear spring is far to hard for me!!

  11. What weight do Ducati think the average rider is for Gods sake?

  12. MCT said that manufacturers allow for taking pillions which ends up with a heavy spring

  13. 1 just inside in the rad cowl, 1 at the rear, just 2 under the belly pan and 4 on the side. No lugs to worry about, just locate all screws first, proceed in the above order and support the panel as you remove the final 4 on the side as it just drops off. As morecamdesmo says, a 2 minute job but take your time if its your first.

Frankly, if you can use an Abba then removing the panel is child's play

    hope this helps

  14. I have found just removing the 4top fixings gives you enough play .

  15. Just bought an Abba stand and fixings for my Monster 1200S. Great product, and great company to deal with. You won't be disappointed with it. I'm gonna get the attachment soon so I can work on the front end as well as the rear end.

  16. image.jpg lower panels not to difficult to remove and Abba stand works well for working with rear shock, rear subframe, exhaust etc.....

  17. Had mine delivered on Friday and need to get it out of the box. I was very impressed with the website and service.

  18. Ordered the fitting kit for my 1198 at 16:00 Friday delivered first thing Saturday morning, excellent service

  19. How much did the kit set you back?

  20. Actually I was really lucky, rang Abba in February asking if they made adapter pins for the 1199 as I already had the stand. At that time they didn't but said if I gave them the measurements they,d make some and send them for me to try. They arrived next day, fitted perfectly and they didn't charge a penny :):)

Great service is all I can say !!!
