Looking forward to seeing it, have been watching your videos for quite a while now, so will be good to hear your opinion and comparison against your GSXR, I have both but my GSXR is a 750. Still running the 899 in so haven't been able to open it up yet and make any comparison myself.

I've had an Alfa for about 23 years or so and Ducatis all that time. Don't listen to the scaremongers!
This is why I will not be riding one, afraid I will love it! especially when my 800 Mile old 848 Evo is currently broken! So many people now are saying how great the 899 is on the road, I really want to know what it's like when you spend maybe £1000 refining the suspension for your weight, or adding some lightweight wheels and whether it can be even better, a real step above the standard 1199.
I'm hoping to limit spend on suspension to £250. Sort the rear shock which, according to MCT, is fine for the road with a little tweaking and an spring change. They are getting an 899 in for set up in a week or 2 so base settings should be sorted.
Did it feel better? He did my GSXR1000 3 weeks ago, it was brand new, 600 miles and had to have new spring, shock re-build and wheel alignment! Was a completely different bike after!
totally different revalved front forks and shock, new lighter springs in front, turns unbelievable, yet stable, floats over the bumps and digs in and holds a line under the power , and run on progressive linkage, very carefull with your bike as well not like some who don't give a shit, long day for me but worth it and much cheaper than just giving some one 2k for a cartridge kit and shock, defo recommend Darren and tom,
I'm guessing yours was an 1199? Sounds like I've made a good choice. Plan is they sort my shock, suggest base line settings and post it back to me. Wishing they were closer to Bristol. Would like them to set up the complete bike. Could be tempted to run out there later in the year.
your closer than me mate ive just come from newcaslte about 600mile round trip, I wanted to post the stuff down but Darren said its much better with the bike here and hes right ,its set up totally now sag, ride height, settings etc, yeh its the 1199S with the elecy ohlins etc
In that case I've no excuse. I'll just have to get off my arse and ride to Suffolk. Should be easier if my shock has been done before I get there.
