  1. Yes as you can tell from the title a truly beautiful 2006 999 Bip sits in my garage and I am as pleased as can be.

No small thanks to all the members who advised me on this switch from Triumph to the dark waters of Ducati

6500 miles, Termis, carbon open clutch and a whole host of extras - but the best bit is , as my wife said (praise indeed here even noticing a bike of mine ), "It looks like new!"

It does! a credit to her former owner who used a Q-tip to clean her where I would have used an old rag...

Whoop! Whoop! Spring is here!

  11. Moo , your missus she must be a silly cow right.

  12. So it was you who got it! I'm assuming by your description this is the 999 that was on ebay that I had my eye on. I was hoping it would stay unsold till next month (when my car loan ends) but I didn't think it would.
Fair play Moo, looks like a really lovely bike if its the same one :upyeah:.

  13. Nice find and now please let the bloody rain stop so we can all get out and have some fun. I think you will soon come to love the 999 . I was never a great fan of them before I got my 999s and with all the other bikes to choose from when I open the garage door I am never disappointed if the day involves some fun with the 999s . Enjoy some fun times with the bike once Mr Sun comes out. I think the style has now become appreciated and people are looking to buy them.

  14. Yep Pat it was me! (unless you're thinking about the 2200 miler up in Fleetwood) I was just about to put a bid in on the Fleetwood one (250 miles away which meant I didn't have time to view before bidding ) when this one came up just over 50 miles away - result!

I have been looking for an under 10k mileage late model 999 Bip for about 2 months - apart from dealers ( no good to me as I don't need finance, warranty or trade in - and I certainly don't want to pay an £800 - £1000 premium for it ) there were only two private ones - both in Lancashire... so I jumped at this one.:upyeah:

Oh and someone contacted me through the forum about an S for sale but I really preferred a base model.

  15. Good bikes well underrated.

  16. Now get the suspension set up and enjoy. These things are a missile from A to B.

  17. Well done, enjoy…. You can do more than just drool at it…. IMG_20140303_135038.jpg

  18. radial brake conversion?
    verdict?

    how much? how easy?

  19. For you ?

Would be buy a set of Ohlins £700 - 1100 , Brembo monoblocks £ 250- 600 . and a lower triple with the stem from an ohlins shod Ducati 999 all from ebay.
That's about £1800 but could do for as little as a £1000. That's using all ex Ducati parts.

You could go cheaper just getting radial forks from say a Gixxer etc and some nissin /tokico radial calipers.
