  3. Cheers....ill be taking shots soon.....haven't really got the money buy its getting some upgrades soon. Got some HEL front brake lines in blingy red and anodised ends. Clutch line and rear brake lines are on the way plus itll be getting an oberon slave clutch unit as well. With the Dyno work thatll be it for the moment. After that (later in the year) itll be air filter time....but itll need to go back on the dyno for that....

Im gonna be there all morning with him as im contracted out to make the tea so I get to see how its all done....

  4. Nice will you be having the ecu flashed or fiting power commander or something? I'd like to get the MWR air box lid thingy but have to wait to get it on dyno

  5. Definitely an ecu reflash - the flapper valve can be marked off at that point. From what ive read on the net is that a reflash is the simplest and most uncluttered way to do it plus Chris (dyno guy) is very skilled on Ducati ecu's and knows all about them. My old 1100s had an MWR air filter on it and in my opinion it was a messy product...this is my opinion of course but I felt that...

    A. You have to hack the old airbox apart. Its all put back together with self tappers....
    B. the filter needs cleaning every 1000 miles or so (this is what I was told) - very messy as I did it once (didn't have the bike that long)
    C. We all know that tank removal (complete) is a pain on the Hyper - you really need to be able to do that to get proper access to the filter to clean it.

From the above id rather have a couple of K&N's with the waterproof bags over them....easier to clean, easier to get off the bike (from what I can see from installations ive seen)

As I say this is from my personal experience with the MWR filter.

  6. Oh maybe I won't bother then. I didn't realise they needed cleaning like that. Is it the siemens ecu you've got? How much to flash it?

  7. Having read your post concerning 1000 mile cleaning for MWR filter, I decided to clean my as its been in for 8500 miles!!! wasnt that bad considering, bike was running fine.
When I originally fitted the MWR it took me 2 hours to remove, cut airbox (used a B & Q woodsaw) & fit the filter, bearing in mind I hadnt removed a Hyper tank before. I would well recommend this MWR, this & custom map (cjs) worth every penny.

  8. Yup - mines a siemens....1100 evo

  9. Yeah - that's the thing....you have to butcher whats already there....as I say on my old 1100s it was already done but I found it a real ball ache to clean. Previous owner told me every 1000 miles was the best time to clean.

That's why I like the full on air filter option....undo the tie strap....filter comes off....prop up the tank a little and that's all you need...

And yes, cant wait til next week for and appointment with Chris.

Just done the front brake lines today...part of my on going replacement of pitted and rusty parts...red hel lines look trick....asthetic but should weather really well.

Which then leads me on to more rusty bits....radiator guard holder which doubles up as the top cover for the frontward cylinder has completely been stripped of paint...(not that its hard due to the shitty quality of the coating) and the bit of pressed metal that holds/guides the 2 front brake lines is pitted completely so both of those will be coming off for powder coating....

I wish I could speak to the bloke in charge of coatings at Ducati - he'd have to have a word with my fist first.

  10. He's got a hypermotard 1100 EVO

  11. Yeah - I must confess im sure its a Siemens ECu but I might be wrong....I know the evo and older 1100's are different...doesn't matter though as Chris knows how to do both....

  12. I think early ecus were magnetic marelli and the later were siemens , i thought the mm was an ecu change and the siemens you have to use a power commander or similar .......... i didnt realise they were eeprom and flashable but i could be completly wrong .

My 1100 hyper sp is the siemens that has a pc v and one of them o2 sensor optimiser boxes .......these were all fitted when i got the bike , i took it to the dynojet dyno center and he said it was pretty good on the map and just did some minor number changes.

Let us know how you get on , sure Chris knows his stuff which everway its done

  13. He didn't mention it but ive just texted him all the same....just to check....that would be a humungous let down if it were the case...

  14. Nope - just texted me back....the ecu can be reflashed....cant wait!

  15. Great no worrys post the print out up and we can see how it compares to the one ive got on the sp , you on the ktm forum comfy ? i see posts on there from a comfy sofa

  16. Yup - I had a 660 supermoto last year (I am the creator of the 660 comedy starting thread!)...Id have had it now if it weren't for the fact id smashed up my mates r6. But then if that hadn't have happened I wouldn't be on here now, the wife wouldn't have got her new bathroom and I wouldn't be going on holiday this year to the US! (ironically ill be getting a new simpson while im over there to replace the one that hit the floor while on the r6) - karma.....

  17. Yeah thought it were you

  18. I loved that bike. Always seemed to gain a lot of kudos from scaffolders and schoolkids....i'd have tried to get it back off of my mate who was waiting with open arms the day after I totalled the r6, he had 4 goes on it then it got knicked out of his garage by the local pikeys along with 2 of his trials bikes....and I thought I had bad luck...!

  19. I still post on the ktm forum as the lads on there are a good laugh plus if I get the cash together im thinking of doing a ground up supermoto build although its too soon after the r6 debacle (ie the wife) - I was lucky to get the hyper....hence the return payback (demolish the bathroom) and the holiday to the US...nothing is ever free....

  20. I have fitted HPE end cans and link pipe, race ecu (96519308B) and mwr filter and am well chuffed with the performance (early 1100). Cleaning the mwr filter every 1000 miles seems a bit excessive though........
