Rossi will be on a Gresini Honda next year!

  1. Scirrhosis of the liver is much more palatable, of course...

  2. The cadbury Boost paint jobs and sponsorship never done me any harm.......Hang on I might have a claim here

Caution......watching motorcycles with chocolate advertising could make you FAT.

Come on guys, the adverts don't carry guns to make us comply! Take their money, even if they think their brainwashing us, it will keep our chosen sport alive!

  3. Stoner did push for the carbon chassis though mate!
Cappers, Bayliss all won on a trellis framed dukes.
Says something about the direction ducati took.
Rumour mill is now that VAG/Audi will pull the plug on the motogp project!

  4. I bought a pack of nuts and quess what the warning was ? ....... packet may contain nuts....... No shit sherlock!! lol

  5. Most people enjoy a drink without anything terminal happening to them. Not sure you can say the same about fags.
    But I understand your point.

  6. My father is 85, mother 80 both smoking since about age 20 no lung cancer, touch on wood, yet. However none smoking healthy people get cancer. Also sorry but glidd you appear to have fallen for fact that cigaretts are unhealthy yet getting pissed every night is not. Alcohol related sickensses are as bad and as common as smoking related one's difference is at one stage government decided to take a side and it ended up being against tobacco companies.

Also if watched a QI today on Dave apparently ban on advertising and sponsorship for tobacco companies was in interest to save them money. None of them advertise now so running costs are smaller yet number of people addicted to cigaretts has not changed much... hm

  7. Let's not kid ourselves, smoking is bad. I should know, I'm a 40-a-day man myself. But it wasn't advertising that made me buy my first packet, it was peer pressure, and I see as many kids smoking now as there were in my day. Fewer adults smoke purely because they can't afford it. Same reason fewer people go to the pub. Personally, I think keeping kids indoors hunched over a computer keyboard is every bit as bad for them as having a fag or a pint...

Regardless, the tobacco advertising ban is in place, so where does motogp go next for it's injection of cash? And how do they attract the prospective sponsors? I can't answer the first question, but the second is easy, the sport needs to be more spectacular to attract more attention, more coverage, it needs to be more newsworthy. That's why riders like Rossi are so important. They attract attention.

  8. And I bet it was a team of university graduates that were funded by the government that did that study and made that shocking discovery.

It's getting stupid innit....like the take away coffee cups that warn the contents may be hot.

I'd be most f*cking upset if it wasn't!

  9. Motogp will not survive in it's current format unless the CRT bikes are allowed to become competitive.

I think CRT is the way forward as lets be honest the racing in Motogp in the last few years has been the most boring of all the major race series.
In the end the sponsors will dry up completely probably when Rossi retires making the whole series too expensive for anyone.

  10. All to do with the claim society we live in now, if you don't state the obvious on the packaging you get sued simple as that. I recall years ago I think it was track time promotions went to court because they didn't state in the briefing that if you went off the track you would have less grip and possibly crash, they lost the case in court because some numpty fell off and blamed them for not informing them, TTP closed not long after.

  11. What the hell has that got to do with motogp?

  12. Nothing! Like half of this thread discussing smoking, drinking etc....

  13. Is this thread still going? :)

  14. Not anymore....I think that's just killed it!

  15. Thank Christ for that! :)

  16. What are you like? Stand up and fight, FFS. This is a good thread, a worthy cause. People are starving in Africa, for god sake...

  17. Rossi rules out return to Honda

  18. Only after it was presented to him, he rode it and went quicker on it. What racer says nah, gimme the slower more inconsistent chassis...

I doubt very much that he said "That trellis frame is too inconsistentl why don't you make me a carbon frame and give me a whirl on that" Given what we know about Ducati's approach to technical direction I think it's safe to say that was all Preziosi.

  19. On Motogp qualifying today, Moody and Ryder were adamant that Rossi wont get a ride on a Factory Honda next year.

  20. now after QP at Mugello, isn't that a shame...

i'll second Audi's decision if they do pull the plug... WSBK will be sheer hell if they keep being distracted by that "no win in the next 3 years and let's hope the salltelite team pulls something out of the box" Rossi effort...

    grtz
