Start off in a carpark to get used to it.

What exactly happened anyway? Why the big fear?

  3. Awww shucks thanks duke
    You got a deal

Glid I lost the front end on a main wet road fractured shoulder dislocated my other and since found out fractured my collar bone  last June I'm still recovering but had this irrational fear of bikes couldn't even go near one
My head tells me I'm going to fall off even a push bike is out

    I will conquer this
Last year I was adament I would never ride again after seeing kids faces when I got home from A&E
Time is a healer though and I'm going sell my other SS and get a monster

  4. I'm going to try pillion with a good friend then I'm going to have refresher lessons to build up my confidence

  10. Your not gonna get out of this now :upyeah:

  11. Why not try a Ducati Riding Experience in Italy? Surrounded by newbies (plenty of girls) in the Imola car park ( where the non-track participants do their thing) kitted out head to toe in hired Ducati leathers and being coached by some Latin model type, I bet the confidence would rerun. Then you celebrate with Chianti and pizza and gelati.

You'd be on a Monster too. Sound like a plan? Easyjet to Bologna.

  12. Sod Viv going....I could live with a bit of that!

  13. we are all routing for you Viv, but I won't be applying any arm twisting - I think you will know when you are ready and it's not just mentally. How are them shoulders now?

  14. Go see hypnotist or NLP specialist, they'll help with coping mechanisms and help you help yourself get over it :upyeah:

  15. T'is scary getting back on the horse for sure... Better sooner than later IMHO.
I had to tell myself that nothing had changed just me, the traffic, the bikes and the risks were just the same,as well as the passion, fun and thrills, it was only me that was different.
When I got on it was gently, gently, prob did me good TBH. Main damage was to the me, GF and bike relationship, it's compounded her fear/hated of them! Which can be awkward!

Good luck, it's defo worth it! :upyeah:

  16. Looking at that pic of you in the bath, I reckon they regressed you waaaaaaaaaaaaay too far...!!!

  17. Hi Chris
My fractured shoulder is on the second injection and started MORE physio I have a problem with my neck which he is working on then to my shoulder but he still feels that i have a tear deep in my rota cuff.
On the other side found out the collar bone had been fractured and it's giving me a bit of jip
Apart from getting and riding I need the strength back in both of them
This has been such a longggg recovery
    Thanks for your support

    How's you?

  18. It's affected my kids obviously they are scared, they are 10/13 of me going out but sitting on the monster looks to them a bit safer
My parents are behind me going back out there as they have seen how it's upset me not being able to get out and about

And my ex was riding with me and his face will stay with me he thought I was dead he said he never wanted to go through something like that again

To put people through this is something you have to think about

  19. Thanks for asking Viv - am aware off-topic now but i'm getting there but nothing like as bad as you. Looks like mine is a bony/arthritis problem so I will soon have to stop resting it and just get on with it. Have Monster 900 MOT tomorrow which i'm looking forward to allthough it will be telling on health as will be longest i've ridden for two months. x

  20. Well I'm usually the one leading everyone astray and off topic so will let it be you today 

Makes me wonder if resting is any good think that's been alot of my problems
    Enjoy your bike 
