Got an ABBA stand Hutch? That's what I used, I pulled out the arm and did the rocker while I was at it. Powdercoated silk black. Every man to his own but I just didn't like that big silver swinger and as I don't do polish black it had to be, its holding up well. As I recall it wasn't that difficult to take apart and if you've never had the swinger out be prepared for the water filled swinging arm when you remove the eccentric hub. Looks a bigger job than it is and gives you a good chance to clean all those areas that are just about bloody impossible to get to John
Aye mate I have an ABBA... I did make the stupid choice of a red alloy rear wheel nut though & I think I need to take her somewhere to pop the standard steelie back on... I had a go at removing the wheel last month but when it felt like it was about to slip I chickened out & aborted... Will certainly look at getting it done though... You inspired me!
I'll hold off on the calipers... Still have that crazy dream of gold forks up front with big boys calipers attached...

I'm liking that red nut, looks good against the black I've got a Ti on mine, I liked the alloy but what put me off is the amount of force required to get the nut off. Sometimes I use a Clark (mains) electric impact gun, for the money its an awesome piece of kit, but I couldn't comment on what it would do to an alloy nut. I used it yesterday to remove the gearbox sprocket nut, as I'm putting on a new chain. Bugger whizzed it off no problem or drama and the gearbox was in neutral!!! I could still spin the shaft with my hand, sort of gives you the idea about what it can do. John
Ive just ordered one of those impact guns. Hutch buy a 55mm BiHex steel socket from Draper. It was a great fit and felt very secure. If you round it off, well...eek. Ive an alloy one on my 916 and it has held up really well to my butchery.
I'll look into that... Really wanted the back wheel in the house over winter last / this year as an extra theft deterrent too but like i said chickened out when the socket began to slip...
