  2. Yes. Buy it.

I changed after years on race replicas and I wish I'd done it years ago. So much more fun.

  3. Paul, don't know about the other bikes, but the new mutely is insanely good

  4. If it's got a full Ducati service history and has warranty/recall work done then go for it. Take out a third party warranty for peace of mind and enjoy.

  6. I thought about several other Adventure / weekend bikes, But none of them touch the multi, it does everything effortlessly, twistys, long distance or just wheeling past schools to impress the kids it copes with the lot, I've never felt so safe in the wet either. if I were you and you can afford it go for it.

  7. Yeah. :upyeah:

  8. Don't worry about the scare stories mate.

1000's of people get ran over everyday stepping off a pavement but that doesn't stop you does it?

The point is that if the bikes had warranty work carried out, a full service history and any recalls done then logic would suggest that most (if not all) issues have been caught and dealt with in good time. If you do a bit more digging you'll also find in a large number of cases Ducati have even addressed issues outside of warranty as long as the bike has been maintained within their recommended schedule.

    I'd say buy one

  9. def the Multi.

I came from a V-Strom (650) and while it's an OK bike that's all it is, OK. I used my V-Strom for commuting but never had fun on it in the 5 years i had it (luckily i had a 749 for that). Whilst the Suzy was reliable, never had a single issue the quality of finish was shocking...the worst i've seen on a bike in over 20 yrs ridding. By the time i sold it (i bought new so 5 yrs old - 32,000 miles) it looked like i'd parked it at the bottom of the solent! not a single part had not suffered from bad corrosion. Yes i looked after it and no i didn't use muck off or other harsh cleaners it was simply bad build quality.
Now i'm on the Multi, i still commute, AND have a lot of fun doing it. Its more stable in a cross wind, better in the wet (the Suzy had a lot of front end slides) more comfortable on the motorway even with the known buffeting issues. The Multi is also more spacious on the back...so the mrs tells me. In the past she'd rather have gone on the 749 than the Suzy now that is saying something, but she loves it on the back of the Multi...

Yes the Multi is serious dough, esp compared to the V-strom but it's so much more bike.

If you just want a work horse yes the Suzy is a good choice, if you want more, fun, passion and a real do it all bike then the Multi no question...

  10. I got an 11 plate last year, Within 2000 miles I had new heads fitted, new clocks, and a water leak repaired, all done under the dealer warranty, would have cost me around £3000 apparently. I love the bike and would buy again, but not without warranty!
