1200 Tyres?

That's like asking what's the best oil, everybody has a favourite but in reality they are all much the same.

 

Pretty much what Pete said. I've had great success running a Pirelli Diablo strada on the rear, and a Diablo sport on the front, but I'm not an especially quick rider. This combination is stable and confident enough to get my 900SS ie to knee down angles and able to run to the edge if the tread while lasting well - after 5000 miles there is still good tread left and no noticeable squaring off. For the CBR I'm going to try the Maxxas sport touring tyres, as I've heard good things about them

Just fitted PR4's n they feel grippy. Hoping they last longer than the Pirelli's.

 

I will put PR4's on as soon the oem wear out

 

I've had PR3's fitted for the past 12 months and they've been perfect for my riding style (including a round trip from Ireland to Austria with all weathers on the way) and really inspire confidence especially in the wet.

Most makes nowadays are more than up to the job so it'll come down to what you eventually feel suits you?

 

I had 3's on my last bike, K1300R they were very good in all weather, the rear had 7k on it before I sold it and still a bit left, considering the oem lasted about 2.5k miles.

The Dealer I bought my MS had PR4's in stock and only sell Ducatis

 

I've still got the original tyres on mine Pirelli Angel GT, I'm at 2600 miles and there still in good nick, There awesome in the wet and I trust them so much I've had my pegs scraping on a few big roundabouts in my area, I'm defo getting the same again.

 

Thought std were scorpions? Mine went from good to gone in a few hundred miles

 

Not on the S GT there not

 

I have never had any issues with the scorpions, always bags of grip.
I am quite hard on tyres, and usually get through a rear in well under 3k miles.
The scorpions last about this.
I have also used pr3s which are great, are cheaper too, but they don't last any longer.

So my view, if you feel the need to change go for it, but I doubt you will get more miles out of a different brand of sports tyre, and the scorps won't let you down if you stay with them.
If anyone is looking to change, I'm always interested in new / nearly new tyres given the rate I get through them

 

They recon the Pirelli Angel GT are long lasting if that's what your looking for.
