Thanks very much ronin. Was going to use Snells or Ayelsbury Duc. I think. Any opinions on these two? Just had a thought! maybe someone out there wants a red one with red wheels? Thanks ronin and Snips.
Not heard anything negative about either dealer - have used Aylesbury for clothing only and they seemed friendly enough. I
I bought my 1198 new from Ducati Aylesbury at a price that was just too irresistible to resist. Although it was all done via the phone and email, they were very good. Arranged everything including delivery etc. Snells in my opinion are the Ducati dealer that is second to none in the south. Ive never used Motorapido so can comment. But many here rate them highly too. But Snells are top dog for me.
Thanks bootsam and MrAliT Both dealerships are about the same distance form me. . First I would like to see a white one in the flesh then I can decide. Aylesbury has a white one on demo so going to pop down and see what's what. decisions eh!
When I asked the first dealer he told me I would have to buy a spare set of wheels in black and then they would swap them over. Which Im assuming would cost a lot Anyone know how much 899 wheels cost?
Just get them to swap them with the wheels from a red one............and that way someone can have an all red bike
That is my point El Toro. The dealership I spoke to said there is no way that they could swap them over which I did think was a bit odd. only able to swap if I bought a spare set! that put me right off them. How hard can it be. lol
Bear in mind that if they swap the wheels they then have to find someone (or hope someone comes in) who wants a red bike with red wheels...... Not sure I can see that happening myself. It's a risk on their part that they probably don't have to take. I doubt getting the red wheel repainted would be much.... Worth looking into. Fwiw I know Snells know a good painter over the road from them. Touched up my frame when it got scratched and you'd think they had stripped the bike and repainted the whole frame it's that good!
I got a set of wheels powder coated and new bearings fitted, tyres taken off then back on and balanced for £120/30 two years ago, great job too. Will be doing the same as im going to get my 899's wheels painted gold too. All I had to do was take the wheels off, brake discs etc.
Have certain dealers got stock of the 899 ? I was told june/july from Newcastle. Not that I can afford one !
