Just got back in from being away all week and checked the registration. It's official.....................I do indeed have M165 JPJ! It's getting dark here and the bike is all covered up so I can't check out all the points you noted; but I do know that it has stainless steel caliper bolts and the gold Poggi Polini faring bolts. As regards the fuel cap; the fuel tank and cap are new (well secondhand new) as the old tank was weeping at both bottom corners. Since getting her last year I have been slowly tidying her up, replacing most of the fixings with stainless steel allen bolts and having all the bodywork repainted. I'll take some pictures of how it is at present and post them over the weekend.
A happy ending!!!! Interesting that over the last year lots of 600SS's are surfacing, interest in them seems to be on the up so do the values which is good news.
WOW That's great, though I'm a bit sad she is not still in the original colours. Can't wait to see pictures.
Great photos Duke, they were the days, 600SS and a 205 GTI, simple pleasures, back in 1994 I'd just bought a new Golf VR6 and had an 1964 MGB to tinker with.
My wife pointed out that our son is a hairdresser, drives a little Mazda sports car, and loves musical theatre. If he's not careful, the blokes he has staying for sleep overs will think he's gay.
