I quite like them, they suit the look of the bike nicely. Did you change the gearing from stock? I'm thinking about going up 2 teeth on the rear on mine to give it a little more punch out of corners. Reading your comments about how it goes has really got me itching to get mine ready for its shakedown tests
No I stayed with stock gearing for now. It is allot lighter than standard and feels allot quicker tbh. Crack on Attila get it done man its all worth it in the end
The bike is beautiful and even with mirrors directly form side looks ok. However the moment you look at it from any other angle mirrors ruin it. Bike looks tiny, slim, agile until you get to the mirrors that look like parts from a row boat.
I hate to say it but I think you're right. I still can't see bugger all out of them so I think the camera is the right option. I like the idea of a camera tbh.
After a few blasts on the bike I'm finding it a bit extreme when braking. As in the clip ons are a bit low and I feel as if I'm going to fly over the handle bars. Been looking at https://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?search=action&category=RISA and was wondering if there's a UK supplier that does these. Or even if there's a standard set of clip ons off another model which would fit. I think I need to lift them by about 11/2" or 38mm. Any ideas?
I keep missing them on e bay tbh. So yes one day. I really want to get the bike riding right and then I'll be looking at the performance tuning side of things
having it "arse up" is going to put everything on the front when braking. mebbe try lowering it a bit,pull c,o,g back. had a gsx1100 s/fighter n that was the same,looked mental but was form over function,plus i had trouble getting my leg over it,dont think i could get on yours at all,id just kick the seat pod vainly while looking a prat.
It's not that high really. Same as the ST but with a thicker seat from a streetfighter. I have tried lowering the back as far as it will go. I think just lifting the clip ons level with the head stock will be spot on.
must admit clipons look good but are often resulting in control problems on lots of bikes and i favour higher set controls,ive even raised my st2 bars using some of those alloy spacers off flebay,made a world of difference to my wrist/neck pain threshold :lol: mind itd still look good even with top mounted straight bars i reckon and youd get more secure control/leverage/wheelie time under heavy braking/throttle popping
yeh theres a world of pain coming for a set of higher controls,lot of stuff there will need reworking i reckon,fairing,steering damper,looms possibly etc etc. mind id lose the fairing
Look at the link. The only problem I can see is that the st top yoke has a lump on the side which had a bolt holding the bar risers. It's not a problem lifting the front fairing or adjusting it. The whole lot is fixed with four bolts. I did foresee this issue when I was building.
I see the link but I just do not get how it would work? Where would the raisers bolt on to? Would it be to pinch bolts? Would then not have a huge empty space where the clip on was left? Not to mention space at top-yoke
