Bmw r9t

  1. What are your thoughts on BMW's celebration of 90 years with the customisable R9T?

  2. Style over substance can't see how you can have a true 'factory' custom it's a contradiction. For the money you could commission or build a true one off unique bike. Sorry but I'm out

  3. I like it a lot, but actually I ride the thruxton quite a bit so it's just more powerful, better brakes, better handling and lighter. That said it didn't feel like a quality built product at the show but I suppose they do get kicked around a bit!

  4. Gets good write ups in some of the mags. But the forthcoming R1200Rw will have the more powerful (123bhp?) motor from the new R1200GS/RT bikes & is rumoured to have the USD forks from the S1000R or the S1000RR. If they price the R1200Rw below the R NineT, it will be interesting to see which bike sells more.

  5. All the limited RnineT's have been sold already so someone obviously likes them.

  6. I like the look of it, and having sat on one at the Birmingham bike show, reckon I could ride it (not too big). I quite like the idea of a stripped back bike without all the electronic bells and whistles that seem to encrust most new machines.

That said, if I had the money to splurge on a brand new bike, I'd probably rather go for the Diavel (yes, I know, it's ride by wire, riding modes etc) having test ridden one last year.

  7. All sold out - if you put a deposit down now you are looking at May 2015.

  8. Same deal with the S1000r as well. Over 6 month waiting list at the moment I've heard

  9. An S1000R with all the electrics on it is still cheaper than an r9T! Eh?
Old oil burner engine, minimal development costs. Parts bin special and a good trick by Beemer marketing dept.
I like the look of it but don't like being taken for a mug. Bought a Mutley 1200 for that :Muted:

  10. I think it looks awful....especially the engine....can't polish a turd. I'll probably get tarred, feathered and chased out of town for this but that goes more so for guzzi. A company that should have been banned from making anything on two wheels....never seen a nice looking one ever. I think its the boxer engine...look at the hp2 lovely looking bike...hideous engine...

  11. Interesting that according to 'How Many Left' BMW have sold 65 R9T's this year with more available in October which are rumoured to be sold..There's 6 second hand ones for sale at the moment with probably 3 - 4 already sold second hand in the last couple of months. People trying to make a fast buck trying to sell over list price but perhaps once they've got them they're not quite what they're cracked up to be, a few saying in their ads 'not for me'......

Anybody ridden one or know who's got one...have to say I really like them but worried so many for sale already.

  12. I have been watching with interest but honestly hadn't even looked at used as I thought they would be rare! However only 65 sold, are production numbers low?

  13. Also read only making for 2 years as that's the life of the air cooled engine before new regs ? not sure that's true..

Knowing my luck I'll buy one, they're a huge flop and prices plummet ...........

  14. Hmm... Well I'm deffo not buying one then!! Although it will likely get the newer water cooled engine but many really like the air cooled so I doubt it will drop ridiculously. I'm just not sure I ever want to be a BMW Owner due to dealers with massive egos!

  15. I suppose with less electronic frippery there's less chance of canbus errors and it will be cheaper to insure/service/run. Your paying a premium for the 'in' style thing of the day. Who knows what next years bike fad style will be?

  16. love the look of it , seems to have a bit of character trouble is you have to deal with bmw salesman ,, its like their cars the only reason you get waiting lists are they are frightened to build unless they have an order ,
