1098 Slightly soggy 1098...Bargain price?

  1. Full strip down and thorough examination of all the electrics. If you can do all of this yourself (combined with maybe a new wiring loom) you might be on to a bargain.
I'd be most worried about the electrics though.

  2. I bloody well have that for under £3k

  3. My mate was looking at this one, he is a bike mechanic and thinks it should be easily sorted. I think he's going for it

  4. I would have thought that if its been submerged then there is a possibility the ECU and dash could be toast if the battery was in the bike at the time. Might not be, if its not then everything would need flushed with clean water and left to dry.

Depending on the level of immersion I'd also have thought the engine would need completely stripped, flushed and cleaned as well. River water is usually full of sewage and silt, it wouldn't take much to wreck an engine.

A bargain for sure but only if you knew what you were doing and had a lot of free time.

    Just my thoughts

  5. Looks like a bargain (and In bet you could knock another £250 off too) if you knew what you were doing.

  6. Dash looks a bit misted...

  8. Great track bike project IMO. Sell off the OEM fairings straight away. Like the cans too

  11. Probably :)

  12. They could also be the street legal Ti slip-ons. Don't the originals have some kind of brushed outer skin? These look smooth.

  13. the tyres will be full of water.

  14. But this is an auction? It will end up going for silly money, just get a proper one & leave the knackered ones for spares only to some twit that has loads of money..

  15. Right then, who will be nearest to what it sells for? My guess, £3850

  16. Theres loads on there from same dealer

  17. £3010 at the time of writing. £3k was my limit :Sorry:

  18. Sold £4610! good luck with that.

  19. I'd certainly like to know what happens to the bike through. Mainly out of curiosity, but I can certainly see another £2000 being spent on the engine strip/rebuild and loom work, which would make it a ball ache for a £7k cat C bike
