  1. Looking at Termis or akrapovic slip ons

Been quoted £1300 for the Termis with ECU-fitted, not had a quote for the Akrapovics as yet, would I need a ECU with those? I.e would it cost me about the same for either?

    What do you guys prefer?

  2. If you need to get the Racing chip option there are people on here that will re-flash your existing ECU to the racing spec and turn off the butterfly exhaust valve a lot cheaper, if required.

I'd go for akras the quality of Termis for the money is absolutely shocking. Been making shit quality and charging top money for way tooooo long now.................They do however sound nice but not worth all the extra muulah

Just my opinion I'm running Quat D cans, 1/2 the price twice the quality though not as boomy as the Termis

  3. I've made my own (or rather reworked the originals).. If I'd not gone down that route I'd be looking at the Zards or Sparks.... Epic looking cans in my opinion.... Just nice to be different from others

  4. I certainly wouldn't be paying for new 'uns! :Nailbiting:

  5. Zards are awesome.. Keep an eye out for them!

  6. +1

  7. Akras with DP ECU (for starters)

    Custom mapping later ;)

  8. & Mr ChrisW being the perfect chap to DP flash your chip... Did mine & I've no complaints

  9. Does anyone know a good supplier for akras? Do they cost the same as Termis?

    Hutch Urs do look nice

  10. Cheers bud... Silly loud!!

  11. What did you do to the standard cans then?

  12. Quite a common mod, drill out the rivets, gut the internals (lots of baffling going on in there), pop in some 3" or 2.5" perf tube, pack out with the best quality packing you can get, rivet it all back out & laugh as small children cry when you ride past haha...
Theres a bit more to it tbh but nothing major... If you want more info PM me or run a search on the site.. Think there is a thread or two on the subject

  15. I figured out there wasn't much in terms of cost difference when you tally it up like for like between Akras and Termis. I bought the bike and the Termis new and chose the Termis as the deal I got plus the fact they are Ducati approved so keep the warranty in place etc. made the Termis the right call for me. I'm one of the folk that think Termis are a must on Ducatis too so was happy to go with this option. I preferred the shape of the new style Termis too as the sit so well with the shape of the tail on the 848 and 10/1198.

Akras were about £900-1000 from memory, plus a chip, filter and map of some kind and you're talking similar cash to the Termi package at £1300. Seemed like the right call to me anyway.

Akra make the best pipes out there though, I don't think that can be disputed.

  16. Got the Zards on mine, good sound and quality item plus they go with the lines of the tailpiece. I also got them in the deal with the bike and would not be paying £900+ for a set of cans i'm afraid.
