Mine looked like something from the Somme! I'm ok with the spring nut thingy, anything else is just nasty!
One of my fav jobs, and one which can go from looking top quality to absolute hash in half a twist of the pliers
When a cush drive separates, its the outer part that does the damage to the hub, those hubs with lips prevent only the movement of the outer. the inner would be fastened to the plate with the referenced nut.
Wouldn't you lock wire them in series from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and so on back to 1 again. Kinda linking them in a daisy chain?
Tell me about it! Think the dealer soaked the chain in engine oil! Really isn't a pretty site. I intend to spend a few hours tomorrow making it look shiny!
Amateur job...they look far better when twisted between nuts...too me half a roll to get mine right! Lol
I wouldn't even attempt it with my lack of patience so Rick the race mechanic at JHP did mine when fitting the renthal kit. Just checked and mine is twisted between nuts but its that neat you cant see it in the pics.I bet Rick has done that thousands of times and probably do it blindfolded lol.
That's what I meant - cheers Matt. It wouldn't take long with the right tool, just making sure you have the correct length of lockwire before you begin is the pain.
That wheel look's fantastic,a neighbour of mine has one of the new Norton's with carbon wheels i want one to put up on my wall.
Thanks Roadtrip.Yeah im a big fan of the look of carbon Dymags compared to others like BST and also opted for a Dymag swingarm as well. Unfortunately I had a serious problem with that rear wheel.Sent it back to Dymag and they issued a urgent safety notice on em.Within a couple of months they had completely redesigned the hub now using alloy and modified carbon rim. Im over the moon with there response and customer service even though my wheel was over 3yrs old and from previous company. This is the new improved version ( note the bigger alloy hub using new bonding and now has extra bolts in place also).
Put it away man! Its like the bloke with a 10" softie in the gym who insists on swishing it around while he dries his hair!!
I hope one day in the future all ducati superbikes will come with carbon wheels as standard. If mine was 10 inches soft id defo get it out at every possible opportunity and do my best impression of a helicopter with it lol.
