Quite clutch mod - 1100 evo

  1. Finally got round to doing is having read about it a while ago, the clatter has now gone & lever in or out makes the same noise, bite point is a bit later on the lever & no slipping.
Much happier with it like this.
I did however have to remove 1 friction & 1 metal plate from the stack as the last metal plate dropped off the drum, this has only left 36mm stack height, was 40mm!

Anyone else done this on a evo?

  2. pics...more pics...

  3. so, this makes the clutch quieter???

  4. I actually like the clatter from the dry clutch .....gives it that ducati sound , but each to there own and all that

  5. Yeah - I was going to follow up with the punchline but you stole my thunder!

  6. Are not all 1100 evo's wet clutch?

  7. No. They're dry and noisy and rattly.....which is how mines staying...love it!

  8. With quiet clutch mod they still make a nice noise with lever pulled in, just looses all the clatter when disengaged.
I think it makes the bike smoother on/off throttle /in town and in theory clutch lasts longer, basket and friction plate teeth don't hammer each other.

  9. That's a very good point....but....no...doesn't....compute.....hyper.....quiet clutch....no....nooooooooo

  10. Seriously.....how many plates did you add...some say one some say 2

  11. I could only add 1 ,the ally basket tangs were badly worn(14,000 miles) from all the clattering, totally unnecessary in my opinion, had 30 years of dukes & always hated the clatter, noise = wear.
    Happy now...

  12. From what I read all the plates come out and one extra goes in first...is that right?

  13. Can you buy just one plate....genuinely interested as if its stops wear and tear but I do like my noise...
