1098 Head light & clock back light flashing on & off

  1. Gone through all sorts on the bike as I have a problem with the dipped beam and back light on the clock randomly flashing on and off. Replaced the dipped connector with an audi one already as it was melted but it's still doing it... seen glimpses of the same problem while searching through Google but no cause/fix as such.
Could the reg/rec cause this even though I have no other symptoms? Anyone else have the same problem?

  2. 100% reg rec failure mate... Mine went last season & exactly the same symptoms... Get a voltage test on the battery & you'll see it spike when the clocks / lights go.. Mine went as high as 17v... Up to you but the R1 Mosfet reg rec upgrade is an option you should look into.. Safeguards against a common Ducati weakness & all in costs about the same as replacing the original... Link below for details.

  3. Already on it hutch. New one on the way.... This will be my bloody third one to date!

  4. Third Ducati reg?!... I'd most certainly be doing the mosfet upgrade then.. & I'm hoping the bike is new & they are all getting done under warranty?... Thats mental

  5. Never had the recalls done which it should have before I bought it in 2009. Turns out I ain't got the heat shield behind the battery box I knew nothing about.... ducati leeds are kindly supplying the recall battery box and reg/reg so I'll see how it goes this time as it's not costing me anything.

  6. All good then mate... Heres hoping this is your last one needing replaced

  7. Got another rectifier from evil bay prior to calling ducati though once I noticed no heat shield... least I have a spare now lol
