Make sure you try Ducati insurance, they were the cheapest who covered everything I wanted. I'm sure Snells will look after you extremely well.
I looked at the Ducati Insurance website t'other day. They quoted twice based on the amount of xs - one was £575 and the other £1007. They are having a laugh!
That certainly wasn't my experience, but I have a lot of insurance issues, including 3 bikes, blood biking, RoSPA tutoring and health issues. Age, IAM & RoSPA and location were to my advantage. Having a tracker fitted also helped.
@redders: white is good, get's my vote! I'm not to keen on the red wheels that come with it though, but that's personal. For levers you can go for any of the big name brands. I've got adjustable Pazzo's on mine, looks good and the adjustability means I can ride without any issues with my left hand (old sports injury).
Yeah re: insurance - I've been riding just under 4 years (so I have to put down 3), and I'm 28. Probably prime ducati-binning demograpic. @Hostyle cheers - was looking at the ASV ones as the dealer mentioned they had those in stock - probably worth the upgrade I think..
ASV's are ace. I've got no personal experience with these, but I've seen them in the metal. Nice bit of engineering if they're the unbreakable type. Personally I'd avoid short levers. Braking with shorties (two fingers) is fine, but I found the clutch horrible to control with shorties.
@SP4S cheers, the site seems to suggest they specifically insure classics (>20yrs old), if I phone them is it a different story?
yes, give them a call i have a collection of old and new bikes, the newest being a 2006 Paul Smart Replica. Nothing ventured................
Ducati Insurance quote telephone numbers compared to others I have found. Bike I was looking at was in the North East
Just rung Ducati Insurance to get a feel for insurance. Talking to someone is much better than the website Cost for the 899 with a xs of £450 would be £315 fully comp But i also decided to check the cost for the Diavel too.............£147 fully comp with a xs of £300 Decisions, decisions Ps. waiting for Carole Nash coming back to me now.
