848 Fast Action Throttle

  1. Wank more to strengthen your wrists. You have not been charged for this advice ;)

  2. not on the 848 but deffo on the multi.

  3. I'm really pleased with how my throttle behaves now with the R1 tube. It was especially noticeable during a track day that I had to twist once and then again to get full chat. Now when its open its fully open.

ET, if it wasnt an issue then a lot of people wouldnt have been complaining about it. If yours is fine then great. Good for you. :pompus:

  4. As said bud for me just a case of my wrists feeling less strained under acceleration... I'm not doing this to out drag other bikes.. I have the wrists of an 11yo girl.... As in my own wrists... Not like I've cut them off an 11... I feel like I'm over explaining this...

  5. how do pop eye.

  6. Whatever floats your boat. Your money so do what you like. I just find some of these "upgrades" a little like the rubbish that is up for sale at the back of the Sunday supplement magazines.

  7. I had to twist, then release whilst throttle was in same place, unrotate wrist, grip and twist again to get full throttle. By that time i was in the corner.

Furthermore there was a lot of slack at closed throttle. The R1 tube got rid of this too. Now my throttle feels more progressive and i get full chat when I want it.

  8. Its a £17 mod ET. One that works and is not bling or unnecessary. The 1198 throttle was shit.

  9. i would recommend it, been meaning to do it since i got the bike.

  10. If it works for you then that's fine by me. Please don't take it personally :)

  11. Perhaps if you added the mod to your 848 it would sell quicker - clearly , for good reasons, its a popular mod!!!

  12. Same as the 848 then, two grabs..

  13. I don't find the throttle a problem. All the big boys on their Panigales couldn't lose me when we did warp factor speeds up in Jockland last year.

  14. El T you're missing the point, it isn't about acceleration speed or anything, it's about degrees of rotation to achieve full throttle, from 90deg or more pre change, to just 60degs, so from full off to full open is achievable in one grab, and not having to wind on to 1/2 - 3/4 then shift around grip to wind it on to full throttle.

  15. Dave.....I get it but I really don't have a problem with rotating my wrist in one go. Maybe I have funny wrists. ;)

  16. I think ET wrist rotation is probably more subtle than ours. Ive broken both my wrists twice each. They are not the most flexible.

  17. He obviously regularly exercises his right wrist vigorously. ;)

  18. edited for the truth/Larry Grayson effect

  19. I rode a mates CBR recently with a quicker action throttle and also a ton of people do it to the daytona 675 and say it's much easier. I really liked it I have to say on a bike where u are giving it more throttle more of the time because they are gutless down low rpm. My concern with the Ducati is about the speed in which the throttle comes in with more torque available.

Worth noting though... Less turn also means it's quicker to shut it and get to the brake lever which is surely a good thing? No?

  20. :D
