I Just Put Down A Deposit On An 899 Panigale!

  1. What do you ride at the moment?

  2. Nice! Maybe take the diavel for a spin then - try something completely different?

  3. I should spend some time reading the rest of the forum!

  4. I am glad I wasn't the only one who found the stand on the 899 hard to put down. Ended up using my toe in the end rather than my heel. Definitely form over function with that design

  5. ASV are good - got them on my RSV4 very high quality, can be expensive but its worth it...sat on a 899 and an 1199 the other day while I was waiting to get the hyper MOT'd they do feel a little more comfortable than my RSV - bars feel a little higher...might just be me though...

  6. And come back they did...................

Cost for the 899 with a xs of £600 would be £414 fully comp

And the cost for the Diavel.............£260 fully comp with a xs of £300

Looks like I'm going to have to change insurers for the first time in my life, whichever way I jump. :(

  7. Fuck me I've just tried ebikeinsurance:

Cost for the 899 with a xs of £400 would be £477 fully comp

And the cost for the Diavel.............£573 fully comp with a xs of £300

  8. ebike sucks.

  9. And Swinton are having a laugh too:

Cost for the 899 with a xs of £650 would be £549 fully comp  that was by telephone cos online they said it was £909!!!!!

But funnily enough the cost for the Diavel is.............£161 fully comp with a xs of £300

  10. You get these are all brokers, right? So rates will depend on lots of commercial factors as well as you, your bike and your location. Like time of the month ;) and direction you come in from, eg aggregator v direct website v affiliate partner

  11. I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking :Meh:

  12. What do you currently pay for your 848 ?

My 848 last year was only £108 fully comp protected with £300 excess, this was through Adelaide Insurance who use KJM. I would have hoped that the 899 would be very similarly priced. I am an old git though at 55.

  13. Welcome to the forum mate & nice bike!... Has it already been established that the red version is quicker though?? Same as with the 848 /1*98.... Thought I'd let you know that simple fact :upyeah:

  14. I'm the same age as you but I paid £250ish from memory, with a £300 Xs. Is yours a standard 848 or the evo or the evo corse? And what year is it?

  15. Mine was 'standard' with an aftermarket exhaust, forgot to mention the other extras, 2009. My new Blade was an extra £50 when I changed the Insurance but I can get that insured for around £110 ish.

So it looks like an 899 is going to be a bit more then.

Phill, you know what I am like, I love my Ducati's, Blade rides really nice, especially since I fitted a 55 profile rear, had first ride out of the year today and the bike steers so much better.

  16. 848 was £370, then went to 899 which is £795 when I got mine in December.
Am rather hoping that falls considerably next year.

  17. My insurance was £159 on my daytona and is £600 on the Ducati, I too am hoping it drops a LOT this year.
