Thats always been my problem and the reason for getting screwed over alot is the fact I think everyone is as Honest as I am .
Had my 1st dash replaced last yr because of misting. 2nd one is not really any better to be honest an of course I know have a bike that's actually done around 3k more than the clocks say!
mine misted totally last Friday couldn't see a bit of the dash for 25 mins ,taken photo when I stopped gonna send to dealer as I want it changed
I had a bit of misting today. Kept in a garage - obviously. Not been washed for months. Saw a bit of rain two weeks ago. Rode to work and parked it in the sunshine. Popped out at about 11am and 20% misting (could only be seen in direct sunlight and not in the shade). Rode home about half three and the misting had gone. 6 months from new 1000 miles. Strange.
While talking to my very helpful localish ducati dealer/mechanic I mentioned my misting dash issue and told him about others getting replacements and still having misting issues AND then having the mileage and run in dash setup issue all over again, to which he said as far as he knows the mileage is stored in the dash and the BBS and THEY Can adjust the mileage UP, BUT Not Down - when needed.
Exactly the same thing for me however by bike has never been washed and never saw rain, 700miles. Davy
