Been to work on the Diavel this week, which has been great. But when I get back to the car park at work, it's covered in fingerprints! I think people must think its lucky to give it stroke as they walk past, and if anyone says " blimey that must've cost you, how much?" I gonna give them a slap. It's been a fab week though
Everytime I go out I get the same question "that looks nice, bet it cost you a bit?"..."yes it did" I reply. "How much then?" "None of your 'effing business!" Is what I'd like to say but I just change the subject.
If you go out on a bike costing £15K+ , people keep asking how much. But if you go out in a car costing £15K+, nobody gives a toss. Funny that!
Maybe they assume that you also have a £15k+ car and you're just a self-indulgent person who can afford expensive fripperies.
Sat around while my legs heal pondering wether to investigate if its feasible to trade the diavel in for a 1199/899.
The garden is dry and the earth I am meant to be digging in the veg garden is crusty. But it is supposed to rain today, which will soften it up. However, it is stubbornly refusing to rain. So to speed it on its way, I went and washed the car - that ought to do it. Unfortunately, on the way back I was flashed in a radar trap. Dammit. Speedo was saying no more than 80 km/h in a 70, so I suppose that's about 77 or 78. They deduct 5, so I'll end up with about 72 or 73 in a 70 - a CHF 40 fine, same as a parking ticket. Annoying but that's life. Bit of a tax-gathering exercise putting a speed trap there on a bank holiday. Same everywhere these days.
Actually rode my motorbike. Astounding! Went to Loomies where I met Pete and Eddy, had a coupla cuppas and rode home again. I'd forgotten I could do that on a bike, go places for the fun of it. Hip now sore, as is left hand. I need to build up my biking muscles (and my codeine addiction :smile: )
Birthday shopping with my now 18yr old son. God I'm officially old now. And bumped into this lot.....
Last day of our week in Dartmouth, amazing weather for April, we really got lucky, mooched around the market in Totnes, full of horny hippies, then fish and chips overlooking the harbour in Brixham, bit of crabbing with the kids and now relaxing with lots of red wine, home tomorrow and forecast is not good for Sunday and Monday and I want play with motorbikes :Arghh:
Went & picked up 3 lambs & 1 goat for Easter Sunday, in the pic you see the 2 lambs & 1 goat...in the box is 1 lamb cut into steaks, chops...etc! The girlfriend & I are expecting 50+ people to show up lol!
Been messin' around with the Guzzi wiring. Nearly there, just a couple of glitches to sort out then I can put the bike back together ready for mot time.
