Hi guys been looking at a few slave clutch cylinders is their any difference between some of the cheaper ones? What have you got be interested to see what other ppl have,
Whats the thinking behind changing yours over?... Looks or feel?.... Still have the standard on mine as to me it feels fine & does the job but I've heard good reports on this site ref the Oberon units.
Yer was looking at the Oberon ones as being top on my list, want it for feel really as I pretty much use my bike most days I do a lot of down riding to.
Just a thought but are you running the standard levers still?... I found that popping aftermarket ones on mine (shock horror Chinese jobs) made a big difference to feel.. Mine have a flatter face, have the adjustable span as well as length... To me having mine halfway between stubby & full length along with them being closer to the grip make a massive difference to feel & pressure needed to engage...
We'll was thinking of getting a set of the black rear sets of eBay for £99 can't justify spending £400 on some rear sets lol
I used it with the std clutch, slipper and dry conversion and didn't really notice any difference. That was with the shorty levers. I noticed the biggest difference when I put the std levers back on.(Oberon was off by then).
Ah, that makes sense, one of the things the Oberon does is increase the level travel, which tbh I don't massively notice but with short levers u potentially have less leverage anyway
If its purely cosmetic just strip them off and get them powder coated. Should save you about 80 quid towards an Oberon Slave!
I noticed a big difference with the Oberon over standard. Made the action a lot lighter but I don't know if its worth £90+ however.
I'm with Hutch on this, did the same for my 1098s and loved them. Had those types of levers on four bikes now with no problems to report. Although with the S1000rr I did have to swap the thinnest of screws to ensure the TC would work
