  1. Hi EveryoneI spent 10 years on bikes (BSA Starfire, Yamaha XS1, Yamaha XS650, Kawasaki GPZ900R) before moving on to cars and sadly I have not had a bike since; but am thinking about getting back into biking again and as I always facied a Ducati, I am thinking about getting a 750SS.One thing that does concern my slightly is that I am relatively short in the keg (inside leg 29/30" for trousers), which is one reason I was attracted to the GPZ900R. The seat was pretty low (790mmm), so I am not sure how the 750SS would compare? But I suppose best thing is to get out and find one at a dealer and try it out. However, I'd be interested to hear from anyone on how they find their 750SS especially if they are 5'8" with a 29/30" inside leg!Best wishes

  2. Hiya and welcome to the mad house.

    Good choice of bike
I'm 5ft 7 and inside leg 29 and I could touch the floor on both my SS

  3. That's feet flat on the floor so don't think it will be a problem

  4. Many thanks as that's great news...... should avoid embarassing moments for me at the lights then!

Just need to get the finances together and start looking......and of course convince my other half that a bike woul dbe a good thing. Wish me luck.

  5. You could always get her to own her own :)

If I can use an SS anyone can

  6. Oh and always warm bike up first and keep both feet near to ground when you take off ;-)

  7. Hi from Ashford :upyeah: I'm a bit shorter than you and have no issues with the SS range at all. If you find one local and you want a second set of eyes over it give me a shout, even to just look at pictures/history etc.

  8. Hello and welcome.

  9. I could do as her inside leg is not much different to mine (bit shorter). However, she does not have a full bike licence...infact she has never ridden a motorbike, but has shown interest.

I think getting her one might be a step too far!

  10. Thanks for the offer nuttynick and I'll certainy bear that in mind when things get a bit more serious.

For now I need to sort a few things out (like get a new job) and then get the money together......so it's not going to be a quick process.

But I am sure the fun will be in the drooling over ads and researching what problems etc to look out for.

  11. Oh I don't know it could work on your favour :)

Rides out together buying bikes together
    Weekends out riding

  12. Hello and welcome :upyeah:

  13. Hi and welcome to the forum :)

  14. Hi Nuttynick.....my 600SS rebuild (more like a cosmetic overhaul) is all complete now. MOT'd and on the road. I have not touched the engine other than new plugs, filters, oil etc and the bike had new belts fitted before I got her and has only done day 100 miles on them. However, I am not sure whether she is running OK as I have nothing to compare her with. So any pointers would be good and even a chance to meet up and for you to check her over would be good.

  15. Sure no problem, let me know when's good for you. You could always come along to our monthly Kent meet this Sunday and we can all have a look! We meet at Mickeys cafe on the A229(Bluebell Hill) at midday, although a few of us go for a blast in the mornings ;)

  16. Thanks, I'll see if I can make it. It would be good to know how she measures up.

If not is the meet on the third Sunday in the month then?

  17. Every 4th Sunday ;)

  18. So the next one after tomorrow would be 25th May.
