Clutch Cover Removed

  1. What is the reason for removing the clutch cover..and do you just remove the cover and fit an open cover....

  2. Makes the annoying clatter even more annoying!
Also helps keeps the plates cool and is an ingrained part of Ducati "culture"...:pompus:

  3. Cool, so they can get wet while riding or washing without any problems then..

  4. The dust disperses

  5. Bling, no other reason..Fact:)

  6. It makes you look cool and attractive to women...

Neither of these statement may be true.

  7. I start my bike after a wash and pull the clutch in a few times to dispense any water.
    Not had any probs...So far...:Woot:

  8. A good squirt of WD40 on the springs and plates will disipate the water with ease.

  9. Heat dispersion. I did it as I was killing my clutch going to and from work. On trackdays, I pop on an R&G cover :)

  10. make sure, if you go open cover, to do the pressure plate and springs/caps underneath, nothing worse than looking at a oem plate

  12. what is a good open clutch cover at a good price?

  13. You get what you pay for really....ive got an evotech one ( about 100 quid ) although I had one of these on my old Hyper....

DUCATI HYPERMOTARD GIAMOTO BILLET ALUMINIUM CLUTCH COVER. | eBay

Which I preferred because of the odd shape but they weren't in stock at the time I was looking for one....this one is a really good price also.

  14. So, if i took the clutch cover off my hyper 796 would mine look similar to the underneath of that? or have you installed a pressure plate? Do you literally undo the bolts on the clutch cover (even with a wet clutch) and that is what you see?

  15. Don't do it on a wet/oil clutch mate...:Stop: You'll make a mess on the carpet...;)

  16. If you run a dry clutch, then yes, you just pop off the cover. However the OEM pressure plate its just a grey slab of metal. Mine is a Barnetts plate. As Neslon points out. If you have a wet clutch, you cant have one
