  2. I have a 1199s, thinking about the R. How does it compare, or a bit too early days to say.

  4. feed back when you get some miles on please

  5. Been thinking and thinking ???? Let us know feedback really fancy one

  6. Is this the one Aylesbury had at the original price? If so, a good deal. I just looked at moving to an R but at a now £30k could not get comfortable with the difference and the hit on my S. The old price sort of made sense (to me).

  9. I looked at that one but it sold before I jumped. Mine's a fresh factory order, it took 8 weeks to arrive. That said, Tony @ Aylesbury did a cracking deal and I'm better off with this one :)

  10. It's a bit early at the moment, I had the Termi system fitted (the 1199S had std exhausts) and it rained at little :( That all said, it feels stronger, the brakes felt better which is strange as they're the same. I expect most of the improvements at the moment come from the manufacturing line maturing.

  11. I bet, the wait's a killer. Love to hear your feedback when you've had some saddle time.

  12. Will do guys. It's just got R bling feedback at the moment, and that rocks.

  13. It's fair to say that the Pani R is the cherry on the icing, but I've got a problem with this, and I'm thinking out loud here so feel free to ridicule me. I'm guessing that to swap a Pani S for an R would involve a PX or private sale and somewhere in the region of at least 10-12K even on a good day, so what I'm curious to know is, is the Pani R twelve grands worth better than an S?. Will it deliver that much more than an S?. I'm a big believer in the saying 'if you can afford it why not?' But the question still remains. Don't get me wrong I'm not criticising the OP, I'm looking forward to hearing a comparison from someone who has lived with both and can give a genuine report opposed to the vague test ride reports from someone who has just taken them out for the day.

  15. In the purest sense of the word, the value proposition doesn't stack up. The R isn't "worth" as much as two RSV4's, or two 1199's, or two ZX10's, or 5+ specials sold on The Bike Shed. Base models and goods produced in greater quantities offer much "better" VFM. TMM worth and better are subjective in the context of non essential purchases.

Is the extra "worth" it to me? To enjoy the tiny extras, the rarity and exclusivity of the R. Yes. I'll make other lifestyle sacrifices in order to enjoy the R.

  16. Ducati insurance came out best for me, with a BikeTrac installed. MCE wouldn't quote and I'm already with them.

  17. I think the sentiments are true for all of the R bikes regarding cost versus performance boost.

  18. Agree but the monetary value is held higher in years to come on the R etc. models
