  1. Its been getting worse all week....then this evening going down the local bypass went past a camera van....ironically not sure of my speed as ive been having electrical problems I had the speedo on kph and I wasn't even looking either but I had a turn of speed on...I wont say anymore than that....are there cameras at the front of the vans to catch the rear plate....had my strip one on as well so I suspect ill be ok but I was just asking/wondering

  2. Keynsham by pass?

  3. Unlikely. Speed vans are usual set up with two cameras. One out the back and the second out the side which gets a better view of the number plate when the vehicle passes. From my understanding, these are pretty much fixed and cant be picked up and moved in order to get the rear plate
If you were hooning it, three figures for example, they would have called their mates. IMO its highly unlikely you have anything to worry about....this time o_O
I could of course be wrong

  4. Not the keynsham bypass but close by....

  5. Don't think I was 3 figures though....

  6. Ah ok....

  7. As said Cameras are fixed normal practice would be the operator looks out the front window and uses an old fashioned pen and paper

  8. Cool....see what goes....I'll just be happy sorting out my immobilizer problem!

  9. you must try harder then :)

  10. Well. That's the thing - I tend to get complacent.....so its a bit of a bump/take a bit more notice of the things going on around (and in front of me!!) had to tell the wife - who just rolled her eyes....it was worse a couple of years ago phoning her to say "you might see a couple of hundred quid coming out of our account....." - while I was at the TT....that didn't go down well...

Ive had my fare share of fines over the years...I really don't think ive ever gotten away lightly with it.....on contrast whenever ive been fined its been way over the top....IMO though...

  11. Are we saying here that if a camera only gets the front of a motorbike but merely notes down the number plate on a piece of paper instead of video footage of rear and biker not stopped by a second officer (pause for breath) then the owner can't be prosecuted? This seems to be a slightly grey area from what I can gather.

  12. Unwritten rule..I hope...

  13. I went past a van some time ago....I know I was in a 30...think I was doing about 38ish....never heard anything more...

  14. most now have video cameras all around......specifically for this...

  15. Well, as I say....just have to wait and see....

  16. Most.....;)

  17. well speeding shoit has been around for years now.............any excuse bullshoit lie or get out clause has been seen heard countered and answered....................more often than not:Banghead:

  19. Surely that couldn't be admissable as evidence.

  20. its videoed.....in fact the whole sequence of pictures is videoed...as well as extra cameras videoing front and back...
