Clocks reset kph to mph

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by quinny1200, Jul 8, 2012.

  1. HI CHAPS, JUST DISCONECTED THE BATTERY TO INSTALL OPTIMATE LEADS & THE CLOCK HAVE REVERTED TO KPH. ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO GET MPH BACK PLEASE?
    CHEERS :upyeah:

  2. Here you go :
Digital Dash Speed Display / Speedometer - How to convert kmh to mph
With ignition off, hold in the headlight flasher and the indicator cancel switch together then turn on the ignition. The main display will show 'units' and you can then use the indicator cancel to select which ones you want, save (keep the indicator cancel button depressed) and exit.

  3. cheers mate will try tomoz.

  4. al sorted cheers nik. is there anything you cant do with the multy buttons? lol

  5. Just wish you could clear the service light !

  6. Make sure you keep a note of any custom settings you set (individual Mode settings, DTC, DES, suspension etc).......the whole shooting match returns to factory defaults every time the battery is disconnected. NOTE: default DTC setting is OFF! :frown:
It's a right pain in the you know what....would have been simple/nominal cost to have a backup EPROM to store custom settings with a small dedicated battery (just like the CMOS in a PC).

  7. help needed again pls chaps. just bn out on 1st ride since resetting clocks & it won't rev passed 6k in any mode! also feels v lumpy. it starts & idles fine though. any ideas nik, andy or anyone? thanks in advance :upyeah:

  8. I thought that I had read somewhere that you can set the rev limit but can't remember where, you could always reset to factory presets but it will delete any settings that you have changed from standard setup.

  9. i was gonna try that but could'nt work out how. any ideas mate?

  10. Enter setting menu by pressing the button (for 2 seconds) under the indicator button, access the set-up page (to scroll thru the different options use the upper and lower buttons over and under the indicator button) select de-fault parameters, select yes and press the indicator button. The reset will take about 15 seconds, this will also change other settings back to factory de-fault. Hope this helps

  11. As catweazle said, if that dont cure it its a trip to the dealer to get bike plugged in to computer to read any error codes.

  12. thanks for the advice everyone but took it to ducati manchester yesterday, turns out the clock reset was coincidental to the fault. the exhaust valve was stuck & actually broke so they disabled it & have ordered replacement. the bike now runs fine but has the warning light & error code showing. a fairly common fault which,i think, has been raised on the forum.
    cheers folks

  13. These valves need a lot of TLC & lubricant, anyone thoughts on whats best ?

    Grease / copperslip / ??????

  14. i did wire brush it & acf50 coated a month back but it still broke! another below par part???

  15. ACF50 is not a lube tho ? Thought it washer of a protection spray

  16. Gents I've said it before and I'll say it again.....get rid of the exhaust valve! It is the most rediculous invention yet, and will cost you mpg....
For what....potentially a slight bit of noise? And that at idle speed? Cause it's open when you are gunning it....

If Ducati have disconnected it for you, say eureka and leave it that way....I bet you don't even notice a difference, except that your bike is a bit smoother low down....seriously this valve is only there to comply to the eurocratic buro"crazy"!

  17. If you disconnect it, then do you not get a warning on the dash

  18. Put a spring on the end of the cable to fool the servo into thinking it's operating the valve. Job done.

  19. sounds ike winning advice from tt. has anyone got a photo of a spring on the servo so i've got an idea of how to do it pls?
