Lorenzo's Head Mushed.........pt2

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Old Fart, May 7, 2014.

  1. M1 rewards smoothness as its had a few years of JL development & that's how he likes it... Not sure it would take much to pepperami it

  2. Lorenzo Rossi Pedrosa are the aliens so what does that make Marquez? The Predator.;)

  3. Nah Stoner bottled it, had enough of racing and the risks and ran away.

    (just for 749er ;) )

Stoner would have been great on this new bike, and I think on an open track as quick as anyone. But MM would have nailed him on the racing side and won every personal battle. Rossi or Lorenzo on that Honda would be different...and if only Simo could come and have a go!

  4. +1 on the Simo remark... What is the future for MotoGP?... Who is the next Vale?.... Simoncelli was next in line (call the police... I would be arrest.. ) but honestly??? Dorna must be shitting themselves... Financially locked into a series that looks to be dominated for the next 3 years by one single nation.... There isnt the diversity that Formula one has & as much as I'd love Mr Smith / Redding / Crutchlow to be budding world champions it aint gonna happen guys.... Look to Moto 3 & pray that the likes of Fenati come good... A bad day at work / half a bottle of Bushmills has spoken....

  5. Maybe thats what it needs.. Arnie + a shitload of mud & guns in France on the 18th...

  6. Motogp is treading water at the moment, until Dorna can finally wrestle control from Honda, and to a lesser extent, Yamaha. That moment is 2016, when all bikes will have control ecu's and Open/CRT bikes will be a thing of the past. But in the meantime you haven't really got that much to moan about.

Marquez, while dominant, is still very exciting to watch at close quarters, and there's been some good close racing behind him (even if we don't get to see some of it on telly). The Spanish will dominate for some time yet, but what do you expect? They're the ones who invested in the sport, and now they're reaping the rewards.

Remember, we've only just got into Europe this season, next up Le Mans, and that always throws up a few oddities, mostly due to the shit weather. But we're early in the season yet and already people are writing it off. Like we've never had dominant racers before...

  7. Sundays race ended like the TT!!.... I'm inclined to be a wee bit doom n gloom as I've had to punt extra at bastard British Telecom for the pleasure of watching a shittier season (so far) than last years.... & yes we've seen dominance before, I know.. I've been following the sport long enough but this is a different kind of domination...... Dude I hope you are right I really do but I can see Marquez making everyone else look like twats the whole year through..

  8. I predict De Puniet to chuck it up the road at Le mans. He always does there.

  9. Turn two... Look at me!! Ah am in zee leeed, DAMMIT C'est le shite!!!

  10. A different kind of domination? Not sure what you mean. Different to Doohan romping every race? Or Ago? Or many others. Truth is there have always been dominant characters, always will be. The only disappointment for me so far this season is Crutchlow finally realising what he's up against.

  11. Something different about Marquez.. So young & he doesnt even look like he's trying... He has his moments where it gets too loose but thats almost shits n giggles to the lad, not like he's overcooked it or owt..... We'll see but the only limiting factor I can see is his motivation.

  12. Crutchlow knew wot he was up against when he had the pen in his hand and a cheque in the other,it pisses me off his whinging about it,good to see Dovi is just getting on with it and doing a good job.

  13. Corrected for you.

  14. It's never good to whinge. Not exactly making himself popular with the rest of his team/the factory etc etc.

  15. My 'boys room' here is decked with the 35 tech 3 flags of Cal... I have / had a lot of respect for the guys spirit & initially thought he was the great English hope...... Then he moved to Ducati & his attitude went tits up.... Who knows, maybe the monobrow can work his Aprillia magic but is Cal featuring in his long term plans... doubtful

  16. Dovi had the beating of Cal at Tech3 too, I'm afraid it was inevitable the result would be similar at Ducati.

  17. The title may already be sewn up, but there are other reasons to stay tuned. I'm keeping a close eye on the Gresini team; in post-race testing Redding was circulating Jerez on the woefully slow customer Honda within half a second of Bautista's 'factory' bike. Aleix Escargot continues to impress on the open class Yamaha, and Iannone is working wonders on the B-list Ducati.

People are wondering where the next wave of motogp heroes will come from, but they're already here, they just need the machinery. Bradders will continue to improve, cos that's what Bradders does.

  18. Bradley to honda next year. Vale and Lorenzo at yam, mm to decide he wants to see if he can win on Hondas earlier w/c 4stroke nr500, and uses it to still stick it to everyone

  19. Marquez will stick with Honda for the rest of his racing days i think,at the minute hes riding high on confidence and because of that he would probably win on anything,i although i was no big fan of Stoner i think he would come out on top in a dual, that would be worth the £12 BT fee.

  20. Cal needs to quit moaning and chill out.....the only reason he moved to ducati was for money and he will be a wasted talent or until his sacked for slagging off the bike and team some more.......Iannone should have had his seat but now Dovi may be saying goodbye at the end of the season the rides there for the Maniac Joe, way better rider and a lot more passionate....rubbing the factory teams face in it already through this season on the substandard bike.....give the guy a RIDE!
