Right, I have a little predicament! Have had the paint tidied up on my bike...tank, all 4 side panels and seat unit all fully painted. The problem I have is, everything matched the first time round, until I noticed my painter had put the fairing decals on the wrong way. He redid them, however not cant get the paint to match the lowers/rest of the bike (apparently yellows one of the hardest colours to get right) there not far off, just me being anal really. So....he's said, he'll paint the lot again. And I'm now kinda thinking, go with RED for a change. What everyone's thoughts?
I always associate the 748 and the 996 et al in red. Because those are the colours they raced them in. But you could do something else entirely. After all, if you're going to paint the whole thing, do something original.
Umm, I only really like the solid red or yellow whilst in road trim (plus there's a few bits of met grey detailing already that I'll keep) I have some track fairings i am having painted at them moment in the high met silver "info strata" so that's the race rep bit out my system.
That looks pretty smart. Already have a black frame and wheels though...over kill i feel it could be.
I like the yellow as it is more rare, here is a photo of my Yellow 996 SPS. I did all the Carl Fogarty details my self, sorry about the photo quality I took it using my iPhone.
In all fairness I would keep it the same colour as it came out of the factory, so if it was yellow then keep it yellow. Very often changing colours puts a prospective buyer off. When I was looking at buying a 996 last year one I saw had changed colours no less than 3 times! If you never intend to sell though, you can do what you want and its really down to personal preference!!!
