848 Under Seat Heat Deflector Solution?

  1. Hi guys and girls.

    Having just bought an 848 EVO SE I wondered if anyone could suggest the best way to keep the heat coming from the engine/exhaust down on my butt?

    I was thinking simple silver back heat matting stuck underneath the seat yet thought you may know of a better option.

    Any advice or guidance welcome.

  2. Ride faster to increase the cool air flow. That's what I did ;)

  3. I used some stick on silver foil as you suggested, helped a bit.

  6. Ive wrapped my pipes in heat wrap. Careful to wear gloves if you do it too. Fucking stuff is full of microscopic needles which irritate your hands something rotten if you dont. Which i didnt.

  8. Thanks Bootsam, good advice, any particular brand you'd recommend my friend?

    I think I'd like to keep things as modern as the bike as possible instead of using old school wrapping ala Cafe Racer style.

  11. You might need 2 sets. I did but I fucked up a bit and 10m mightve done it had I not. So I ended up with 2 sets and a bit spare.

  17. @MrAliT it made a small amount of difference. Especially when its 30 odd degrees outside. Still gets your foot hot in traffic though. What I need are asbestos socks.
