Jimbo Chris Bikerbabe Mark Jerry Stuart +1 Troy Sharpy ronin Sorry Jim - I is on my own - did you get picture ok?
I briefly attended last years Groombridge, but had rather a shock. Found I'd misunderstood what kind of thing it was. I had assumed you could turn up any time, stay as long or short a time as you liked, and depart when you'd had enough (like any bike meeting anywhere else), since there was nothing to specify otherwise. Nothing of the sort. Turns out you are expected to arrive not later than a set time, then you are 'locked in' until the whole event is ended. When I went to depart, a bumptious, aggressive marshal actually had the gall to try and stop me! Needless to say, I wasn't prepared to be treated like that and I left anyway. I won't be going there again. If you choose to go to Groombridge, good luck with that and have a nice time.
I spoke to the 'boss' of the event and made it clear that their 'marshal's' were over zealous last year. I was given a commitment that it would not be the same this year. It should be the way it was in the previous years.
I will be coming down from Ashby (Leicestershire) if anyone wants to meet up on the way down?????????????

Nick, If you can, could you let me know any # of people from DOCGB, I need to let Groombridge know about # for lunch. Cheers, Jim.
Update***** Thanks for your replies. All bikes are welcome, particularly Italian ones.....This year Triumph and Honda will make a small appearance and some Italian classic scooters. Along with the Ferraris there will be an MG car club presence.. Our parking area opens at 1pm. The bike beauty contest will be announced at 4.30. then there will be the customary cacophony of noise from the Ducati contingent when we all rev our engines in unison... Not finalised yet, but the Kent/south east chaps meet at the Oakdene and make our way to the event... Lets hope for dry weather!! See you there.
No replies on the DOC site I'm afraid Jim, but it doesn't get much traffic. I know the other Kent guys I've seen reply can't make it. Have a great day!
