me and I'll be in the snells garage so you can show me around in the fast group on my multi..unless they open up to any makes
It won`t be open to other brands Bradders.....inters group is full, by all accounts, and so is the novice, space in the fast group tho Before I started my holiday we had 25 in the garage.....
I'll be wobbling around in the novice group, only been to Silverstone so far so this should be interesting
Yep, I'll be there, even if its only to eat bacon and drink coffee. Its going to rain and we all know that
Massive thank you to: @Mackeral_Fillet @El Toro @simmytt @chizel @mattmccabebrown @Il Presidente @Matt DWrecker @arlecchino @Anonymous For their sponsorship dollars!
Quick question... What happens at the end of the season? Obviously you'll have finished racing and still have the bike and all the spares and everything which will be a considerable chunk of money. Are you going to sell up and redistribute the money back to those who sponsored in some way, or do you get to keep the bike and all the extras at the end? Just asking...
I think it would be a neat idea to create a micro graphic like Porsche did a few years ago then everyone who has sponsored some can have their username on the bike. I know I think it's pretty cool my name is on a car in the Porsche museum. Unless of course I win the draw in which case you can all bugger off and it'll be "Count" on there.
That's a great idea @Count. Maybe something we could arrange for the last race of the season @Nicky Wilson?
Ar, that Porsche says COUNT. I just thought it was a comment on the owners... Antonye . You suggesting paying for something, like being a member of a 'racing club', and wanting a cut of the proceeds at the end rather than just the head bloke having it? Cant see it catching on...I'm sure if someone offers to buy his bike for him they can have it
It's a nice idea but at the end of the season is... well, next season. I need the bike etc to roll-over into 2015 (with any luck). By the end of the year most of the parts (some of which are consumables) will be of little or no value in any case.
Nice idea! This is possible without a doubt. - It's a bit late for the next round but I can have it done for round 3 I would think and then it can be added to throughout the year.
What I'm saying is that a whole load of people are chipping in to pay for someone's hobby, and to help fund that hobby. That hobby includes buying a whole load of expensive items, one of which is a £12,000 motorcycle. When that racing season is finished, someone ends up with all those items that everyone else has paid for. Most race teams are run as companies and the sponsorship money is used to buy stuff for the team in exchange for something from the team - be it exposure in the form of (sponsors) advertising or the use of the rider's services in advertising, corporate hospitality, or some other means. At the end of the season the bikes are sold off and that money goes back into the pot for the next season. Ultimately the company has some value as it holds assets, be it bikes or cash or intellectual property. As long as everyone is happy to be paying money in this way then that's up to them. I was just asking for clarification on how this works before chucking in a couple of grand. Also, the difference with being a member of a racing club is that you're paying for the use of the services of that club - be it to race in a series they run or post bullshit on their website. If you don't think the club provides value, or doesn't provide a service that you want, then you don't have to join that club. Nobody is forcing anyone to join!
