Im after a ball shaped Sat Nav mount for my 1098. I basically want one that will either go into the small hole in the end of the clip on, or attach to the central nut on the top yolk Any suggestions?
I got mine from Buybits Ducati 848 evo Mount for RAM Motorcycle Mounts (sku 11780) - BuyBits Ltd I covered the ball in layer of self-amalgamating tape to improve the grip of the ram mount arm for my TomTom
The plan is for a semi permanent connection, hard wired to the loom, so sticking it on the damper wouldn't be ideal
Just a thought & perhaps a bit pikey but here's what I did... Unit is a TomTom One, holder is on there with strong velcro & that wee black box under the Corse sticker is a twin USB outlet... The usb cable routes under the yoke... Not as pretty as a ball mount but cost me pence & works.
I like that Hutchy. I prefer mine on the damper though, as it remains in the same place. When its on the bars my damn iphone keeps going from landscape to portrait as i move the bars etc. Does my head in.
@bootsam cheers mate & yeah I had the same problem with my S4, you can at least force the S4 into an orientation.. Problem was it vibrated a bit too much plus with it being flat against the yoke the screen went invisible in the sun. Ball mount is a much tidier option... I blame my fathers Scots DNA for my thriftiness
Hmmm maybe its the fear of the wife kicking me in the nuts for constantly throwing money at the bike that did it then?
I will say that they both look very smart, but the plan is to get the Sat Nav cradle hard wired into the bike.....all for one massive f-ing trip :Hilarious:
You can lock the phones orientation to stop that, scroll up from the home button (finger not on screen) to the screen, far right icon is a lock with a circle around it. That will lock the screens orientation.
I have brought a second hand stem nut and drilled and tapped it to take the ball mount. Cost £10 from on here. Did not work well as very thin wall on stem nut. I put a washer either side and a nut on the bottom works fine. Took it into Moto Rapido and asked them if it would work and they said yes good to go. Yoke needs to come off to fit so will get them to fit it when they do the next service. I strapped a plate in this position and fixed a mount to it to try it out on my last trip and it worked well. Have wired connection into loom. Regards Steve
Hi mate, I recently bought this for my 848 Evo and it doesn't seem to tighten?! It fits into the tube, but just rattles around Am I missing something obvious here as it looks like it shouldn't (and doesn't have any) need any fitting instructions?!
